I think 2013 will be what I thought 2012 was going to be!
2012 IMO Florida got the right bounces. I was starting to have some confidence in Muschamp, but I felt the Gators were lucky. I didn't see the week to week improvement i.e when Meyer was coaching.
After the Louisville Clunker, what confidence I had gained was lost!
With Gillespie gone, Driskel is going to have develop a 4th & 5th gear he didn't have in 2012! I see a scary schedule ahead! Canes, LSU on the road, Mizzo on road, Dawgs will be tuff, litte usc on road, FSU always worries me!
2013 could go South in a hurry, unless Driskel really picks it up!
I have the uneasy feeling, he won't. I don't think Muschamp coaching is going to make up for it.
I look for Tide to cruise through the West & beat the Dawgs in another close SEC Champ game.
If last year was more 'luck' than talent....well luck always 'runs out.'
I had this same feeling last year and was wrong. I hope I'm wrong 2 times in a row!

IMO Best case scenario for Florida: 10 wins 2 losses Worse Case scenario: 6 wins 6 losses Probable scenario: 9 wins 3 losses

Brent Pease & Muschamp are going to have to teach Driskel to throw the aerial bomb!
Last year Gators played a lot of cupcakes. If Florida wants to get to Atlanta (SEC Champ game), Driskel better learn to throw the 'long ball.' (and receivers better learn how to haul it in)
The leaky OL needs to be fixed!
As the Gator passing game goes.....so goes Florida!
If Gators want to go to a December Bowl & have a winning season - the personnel is there.
If Florida wants to go to the Big Dance...there should be some 'riverboat gambling' in Muschamp's style!

Driskel is good for two TDs a game --- for the other team. The Gator defense is very good, but when the offense sucks this bad the defense can't influence the game.

The Gator defensive line is very, very good and they make the rest of the defense much better. I saw several opportunities today where we could have gone deep with receivers getting separation beyond the last defender but Morris was running for his life and couldn't set to throw to them. I kept expecting Coley to go to some screens, both to the side and middle type, to slow down the rush a bit, but he never made that adaption. But, he is young and really in his first year calling the plays in the game and I expect him to improve.

Canes 10 first downs Florida 22 first downs Canes 212 total yards Florida 413 total yards When a team wins with less 'stats' it means: 'The Other Team made Mistakes!' Mistakes always = Coaching. Gators have some talent, but don't have Coaching to win SEC. And they have a tuff schedule this year - not cupcakes like last year.

If they were just dropping the balls or just having all the time in the world to throw and still throwing picks, I'd agree with you. When the fumbles and interceptions are clearly forced by the defense, the coaching you speak of is on the defensive side.

Don't know what game YOU were watching but the one I was watching saw Driskel throw when he could have instead threw the ball away or run for at least ten yards. His interceptions were not because of the cane defense but were because he made the wrong choice. He tried to force the completion when the receiver was clearly not open. Couple that with an off target throw and the interceptions were easy for Miami to make. Like I said, Driskel was the best player on Miami's team that day. He doesn't throw that last interception in the red zone and instead takes off, the Gators most likely win the game.

Yep, no bad throw or bad decision is ever due to a QB being rushed or feeling pressure for the defense, even when he has been forced out of the pocket. @@

Driskel played poorly. He stood way too long in the pocket and when he did run out of the pocket, he tried to force the ball when his receivers were covered...but the game breaker was the one he threw in the red zone late in the game when all he had to do was to easily run for the needed yardage. Oh well. Miami had the most points on the board at the end of the game so they get the win. You should call Driskel and tell him thanks. Now it's time to welcome the Volunteers. Hopefully Driskel won't allow this one to be given away too.

What can I say? The whole concept of the game is put pressure on the QB and try to force mistakes while playing or covering the receivers as best you can. If there is no pass rush at all pretty much everyone agrees any QB can pick apart any secondary because you cannot expect the defensive backs to cover for over five or six seconds. Give them time and the receivers will get open. Give him time and any QB can pick you apart. Why is it so painful to acknowledge that Miami had a good pass rush and excellent coverage most of the day?

Why is it so painful to acknowledge that Miami had a good pass rush and excellent coverage most of the day? It just is, Darrel..it just is . ok..I said it. Miami had a good pass rush and that , for the most part , didn't allow Driskel much time. but like I said, the poor decision to throw instead of taking off late in the red zone most likely is what cost the Gators the game...and that's on Driskel. Before this game was played, I was telling a few on here that Miami is still Miami. I will admit that Florida probably , or at least I hope so, played their worst game of the season on offense. That being said, Miami took advantage of what was given them and ran with it. Congrats to them. The win moved them up to 15 and if they keep winning, like I said earlier, they will have a great shot at the BCS title. Good luck to the Canes the rest of the way.
