During one of my nightly wake-ups, I flipped on MLB...
2024 will be the 6th time in history that the league HR Leaders' teams met in the series... Ohtani, LAD, 54 HRs, Versus Judge, NYY, 58...
anyone care to venture any guesses as to the first 5?

I would bet Ruth's Yankees would be at least a couple of them. Maybe facing someone like Jimmy Fox.

A couple close calls... here ya go -
1956 - Mickey Mantle, NYY & Duke Snider, B Dodgers 1937 - Joe DiMaggio, NYY & Mel Ott, NY Giants 1936 - Lou Gehrig, NYY & Mel Ott 1928 - Babe Ruth, NYY & Jim Bottomley, St L Cards (Don't think I'd ever heard of this guy before...) 1921 - Babe Ruth & George Kelly, NY G
Interesting too, I found this little tidbit that I had been unaware of...
In the final series of the 1924 season, the Giants were playing the Philadelphia Phillies at the Polo Grounds and battling for the pennant with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Jimmy O'Connell offered Phillies shortstop Heinie Sand $500 to intentionally lose the games. Sand rejected the bribe and reported it to Phillies manager Art Fletcher. It eventually led to the lifetime suspension of O'Connell and Giants coach Cozy Dolan by Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. O'Connell implicated Kelly, Frankie Frisch, and Ross Youngs as co-conspirators.[12] However, Commissioner Landis cleared Kelly, Frisch, and Youngs of any wrongdoing.[13]

Pretty sure he still holds MLB record of driving in 12 runs in a single game.

Sunny Jim Bottomley….good career, and is in the HOF. Pretty sure he still holds MLB record of driving in 12 runs in a single game. Only because I live in St L that I know Mark Whiten also drove in 12 runs in 1993. Both actually were Cardinals and set/tied the record almost exactly 69 yrs apart. The game was a part of a double header and because Whiten had a RBI in the other game he tied the record for most rbis in a double header, 13. Whiten went 4-5 in the 12 rbi game w 4 HRs. In his 11 year career he "only" hit a total of 105.
