... exactly why fall baseball is so intoxicating. the yankees bash their way to a 5-0 lead, and the dodgers look dead. then in the top of the 5th, ny makes 3 fielding blunders, beginning w/judge dropping an easy fly ball, and la grinds its way back to not only tie the game at 5, but keep the yanks' best pitcher, garrit cole, on the mound for 20 minutes in this inning. and the dodgers still have 2 on w/2 out.

Why baseball is so cool. An interesting very small detail turned the game tonite, 3 weeks after the same small detail changed a game that nearly ended the Dodger season. In the Padre series, with Machado on first, a grounder is hit to Freeman on the infield grass. Freeman throws to 2nd to get the force out, but Machado goes out of the basepath to get between the throw and the SS. The ball hits him and everyone is safe. It sparks a big inning for the Pads. Fast forward to the 5th tonite. Grounder to short and Hernandez does the same thing and doesn't allow the 3rd baseman a clean shot at the throw, and everyone is safe. The rest is history.

No Game 6 costs FoxThe Los Angeles Dodgers denied the New York Yankees a Game 6 as they clinched the World Series on Wednesday night, but in doing so FOX lost out on a potential $150 million. A blockbuster World Series matchup ended up being extremely one-sided, as the Yankees were on the verge of being swept before picking up a consolation win. It looked like the series would head to Game 6 as the Yankees took a 5-0 lead on Wednesday, but a stunning comeback saw the Dodgers celebrate prematurely as they won 7-6 on the night.

what was even more amazing to me than the guys literally putting betts' arm in danger of being injured while they worked to pry the ball loose from his globe (which was amazing in its ridiculousness in and of itself) is the histrionics they went thru, gesturing to the wall like they were saying 'this is OUR space and that damn dodger invaded it and we have not just a right, but a DUTY as yankees fanatics to take it upon ourselves to help ny win by attacking invaders'. lmao.

Once again, "FAN" is just a shortening of the word "fanatic." For EVERYONE'S safety, I think alcohol should be banned from all live sporting events...there would still be A-holes...but maybe they wouldn't be so bold. If you need a drink, stay home and watch the game on TV.
