Shasta County voters' support for Donald Trump went up in 2024 election Mirroring the rest of the country, support for Donald Trump in Shasta County in Tuesday’s presidential election showed an increase from four years ago. Challenger Vice President Kamala Harris conceded the election to Trump on Wednesday afternoon. Donald Trump had 295 electorate votes, according to USA TODAY on Wednesday afternoon. The North State enthusiastically endorsed Trump in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, so the region's overwhelming support for Trump over Harris this time around is no surprise. There are 116,287 registered voters in Shasta County. The elections office lists Shasta County's voters as 51% Republican, 22% Democrat, 18% no party preference and 9% other. With all precincts in Shasta County reporting results, the Republican Trump/JD Vance ticket has garnered 69% of the vote on Wednesday. The Democratic Harris/Tim Walz ticket had 29%. In 2020, 62.65% of residents in Shasta County voted for Trump. There are still thousands of ballots left to be counted in Shasta County in the coming days, according to the elections office. The county has until Dec. 3 to certify the election. Meanwhile, the Washington Post reported that voters in most counties in the country had moved to the political right when compared to four years ago. Trump also is winning the popular vote. While Trump won the presidency in 2016, he lost the popular vote to candidate Hillary Clinton. He also lost the popular vote to President Joe Biden in 2020. While Trump is on track to lose in California, his support in the Golden State has increased compared to 2020. Harris had 57.3% of the vote to Trump’s 40.1% as of Wednesday. They watch the counters and the process to make sure it’s being done right. He’s bitter that we had the huge ground game, monitors to watch their counters and computers, and a crap load of lawyers to contest each and every single potential and actually irregularity in voter eligibility, date, signature, and following the rules. We made 2020 from them again impossible. |

I told Walter recently that inland rural valley and foothill California counties would push near record margins here for Trump and against her. My county currently at 68.1% might reach 70 and others around me might push toward 80%. We love Trump here. We despise Kamala as much as Newscum.
The governor and legislature intend to fight the new President and be the resistance to him. We the minority here intend to do to the state as it does to the president. We the 40% intend to be as big a thorn in the side of the state as it plans to be to the next administration. We like 2017 -2020 can count on federal support when we take on the state internally.
