"...families can be deported together..." were his exact words during his 60 Minutes interview in October. I'm sure you can find it on YouTube. Never mind that, ironically, the receiving country may also not allow the illegal immigration of a foreign citizen into their country. Then the kid becomes an orphan, a ward of the federal government, and you and I have to pay to house and feed the kid, whereas before we didn't. If the parents are deported and the child cannot be deported with them, we need to ensure that no taxpayer dollars go to support that kid for the next 18 years. So he didn't actually say US citizens would be deported, as you claimed. What part of families with both citizens and non-citizens deported as a group ('they') wouldn't mean 'together'? If citizens are deported along with non-citizens, you're okay with that, right? Why would you want to create an orphan if you can keep the family together? It's better for everyone, isn't it?

Of course it's better. So send the anchor babies back to Guatemala with their illegal alien parents.

The problem I have is that is after they get deported, there is nothing to stop these young citizens from just getting on a plane and coming back. They could come and go whenever they want, even if they are convicted felons with long histories of incarceration for their heinous crimes. They could come back and just go directly onto government assistance, having babies and sucking up government resources. What can we do to prevent that from occurring?

Do you have a link to that Holman quote? From everything I've read, if an illegal parent is deported and has a citizen child, it is up to the parent to decide if the child goes with them or they make arrangements for the child to stay with someone in the US. This is really no different than if a child has a parent convicted of robbery or murder and goes to prison. Of course the child is not going to prison, but the parent will be taken from the home and a decision on the future of the child must be made. Who is at fault? The parent that commits the crime, IMO. "...families can be deported together..." were his exact words during his 60 Minutes interview in October. I'm sure you can find it on YouTube. Never mind that, ironically, the receiving country may also not allow the illegal immigration of a foreign citizen into their country. If the parents are deported and the child cannot be deported with them, we need to ensure that no taxpayer dollars go to support that kid for the next 18 years. Not what you suggested. You wrote: If the parents are illegal and the kid is American, Homan has specifically said the American will be deported with their parents. I saw the interview you referenced and he was answering a question. And his comment was the child could be deported along with the parent, not that they always would.

I do not want my tax dollars supporting an orphan artificially created by the government. We already have a few thousand of those who got roughly a half million dollar gift each from the government from the last time Homan was in charge. No way do I want to see that again...Nope...Keep them with their families, and kick out all the American children, whether they want it or not.

If the citizens are minors born here to illegal parents they can all be deported and the children can legally return as adult citizens. There are so many criminals and those with charges pending in their home nations and those who committed crimes here and ones who have lost their court cases and are ordered to return who have not left to keep us busy for a long time. Also effort has to go into finishing the wall.

Back to the games people play mode i see. I'm not the one who first suggested deporting citizens. But you are the one playing games with the thread. Minor citizens would not be "deported." They could leave with their parents by the parents choice or stay with legal relatives or friends.

They could leave with their parents by the parents choice or stay with legal relatives or friends. Unless no friends or relatives are available. Then they become orphans unless they leave. Is that what you want? I don't want to pay a dime to support those kids and thousands like them for what could be more than a decade of guardianship if I don't have to. Do you?

I think it would be strange if a family decided to leave their minor child here with no visible support. But, if that minor is an American citizen then he/she is entitled to all the normal support we have here for homeless children.
