I am disgusted beyond disgusted.
Brian Kelly let a coach from OOH-LA-LA beat him?
Nothing more to say.

DJ Lagway was playing on one leg and still found a way to pull the win out with his teammates. I tried to tell you Lagway is a special player. One healthy leg was enough. Definitely the next Tim Tebow type of player in terms of team leadership and size at 6'3"/240. The difference is he is a better passer at this stage than Tim was, and he runs more strategically rather than like a bull in a China shop. He came in as the #1 QB in the 2024 class. Now you know why.
Insofar as coaching is concerned, the Gators D was consistently out of position to get the Tigers off the field allowing what seemed like a season's worth of 3rd and 4th and longs. Fortunately, the Gator D also got 7 sacks, one more than LSU had allowed all season. The Gator D played well when they were in position to make plays which wasn't often, but enough to win the game, bend but don't break. Brian Kelly significantly outcoached Billy Napier.
Time of possession and number of plays tells it all. LSU dominated. That is good coaching by Brian Kelly. LSU did everything except get into the endzone. The Gators D played just well enough for that OOH-LA-LA coach to pull off a miracle.
--------------------LSU----------Florida
Poss. Time--------41:43--------18:17
Plays--------------92------------43
3rd. Down Conv. 13 of 24------3 of 9
4th. Down Conv.--2 of 4--------0 of 0
The miracle is the Gators were even in the game let alone had the chance to win the game. Going on stats, LSU had the superior coaching and players. Let's chalk it up to homefield advantage.
Keep in mind that the Gators have been playing improved football against what most experts claim is the toughest schedule in the nation. Other than the embarrassing loss to Miami to open the season, the Gators have been in every game they played. I don't count at Texas as UF had a 3rd string QB from an Ivy League school playing as QB 1 & 2 were injured, #1 college career ended. The Gators out played Tennessee in Knoxville only to have Billy Napier give the game away with poor coaching. The Gators had the poodles reeling until Lagway injured his leg in the middle of the 2nd quarter, lost by 2 TDs. Bottom line, it isn't the same embarrassment of a team that Napier fielded in his first two seasons.

You can't beat anybody when you have to settle for FGs instead of finishing drives with TDs.
LSU was outplayed and outcoached ------ the only place where they dominated was in the "embarrassing" category. I doubt they will beat Vandy or Oklahoma.
Stats don't mean shit. The scoreboard holds the only numbers that matter.

Stats don't mean shit. The scoreboard holds the only numbers that matter.
Stats do show what happened. We watched the same game, but you can't see all of the good LSU did, can't see the forest for the trees. The only time Brian Kelly let LSU down was with the clock stopped at 1:01 left in the game and in the distance for a FG at 49 yards. Being behind by 2 scores, he should have kicked the FG and then gone for the onside kick. LSU had 2 time outs so plenty of time left to try to tie the score if they recovered. Instead UF sacked the QB taking LSU out of FG range and that was the ballgame. Even with giving up 7 sacks, LSU still is tied for the lead in the SEC in not giving up sacks. The other team tied with is UF. UF didn't give up a sack in the game. That was part DJ Lagway getting the pass out quickly or stepping up into the pocket to gain that extra 1/2 second to get the pass off. To complain about sacks rings hollow as it was a one-game thing and UF just got after it on those plays, was a difference maker in the game. The only thing UF won was the scoreboard at 27-16. LSU did rush on UF, 190 yards. In college ball, those 7 sacks erased LSU's rushing down to 128. UF had 1 loss of 6 yards, zero sacks allowed, and could only muster 113 yards which included the 55 yard TD run late in the 4th quarter. LSU outgained UF in passing 262 to 226. Total yards went to LSU 390 to 339, again LSU yardage gained reduced by the 7 sacks. Where LSU lost the game was having to settle for 3 out of 4 FGs made. If LSU gets into the endzone on 2 of those 4 drives, the Tigers win. Give a little credit to the UF D for playing hard, bent but didn't break. The Tigers did have another team on the other side of the LOS they had to deal with, just came up short in the only stat that counts, the scoreboard. That does not mean LSU royally sucked. The Tigers lost a competitive game. The royally sucked classification belongs to UF at UTex last week losing 52-17 regardless of who played QB for the Gators. I really do think homefield advantage had a lot to do with the game. It has been years since I've seen The Swamp so electric for a game.

Florida is not that good. The only ranked team they have beaten this year is LSU (then #22, now gone). Whoever was calling plays for LSU did a shitty job. I give credit to Florida's D for playing better than LSU's O. Florida played better everywhere, which doesn't speak well for LSU at all. If you want to think Florida is a good team because they beat a lousy LSU team, well ............
We'll see if the Gators are for real next Saturday when they take on Ole Miss. It's good that y'all have Lagway back, but he is no match for Jaxson Dart.

I have not once said UF has a good team. I said UF has an improving team. Since you are intent on demeaning your team in this fashion, have at it. We both watched the same game and saw two different things. As a true freshman, DJ Lagway shouldn't be as good as Dart, but I can assure there won't be a 52-17 type of score put on the scoreboard next weekend unless Lagway isn't playing. If the Gators lose, you won't find me saying they royally suck or they are a good team with a 6-5 record if they win. I'd just like to see the Gators reach bowl eligible for the first time under Billy Napier. My, how the mighty have fallen. It's sad times when I'm happy with a team that shows fight and improvement even if it came against an LSU team that "royally sucks." That's my reality.

That's a good thing for the entire SEC. I thought the Florida faithful wanted Napier gone. Are they changing their tune now? I won't make a prediction, but Ole Miss' only losses are to two teams that they should have beaten. They are coming off a legitimate victory over then-#3 Georgia, and Georgia is a pretty good team. Can the Gators beat Ole Miss? Well, anything is possible. Best of luck to y'all.
I'm not changing my opinion of LSU. They are bowl eligible, but what bowl would want a Tiger team that has no luster are mystique to bring to a game? In the good ole days. if LSU was down by 10 at halftime or going in to the 4th quarter, I had faith that they could come back, which they did more often than not. The Tigers don't have any opponents left to show the world that they are good. No ranked opponents to upset, and I have serious doubts they can beat Vandy or Oklahoma. Yes, they ARE that bad.

You haven’t seen Oklahoma play. Just saying. Think how rich you would be today if, years ago, you put money down that at week 12 of the 2024 season, Vanderbilt would have a better record and more quality wins than Michigan, Florida, USC, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Auburn.

I had totally given up on Billy Napier and the Gators since last year when Napier announced he would retain play calling and not hire an OC. Fast forward to this season, I'm finally seeing some hard work and results from the team and Napier isn't exactly blowing it with DJ Lagway at QB. I'm also fairly certain the HBC who keeps an office in the football building is having an impact on Napier as well, a good thing. Gator Nation wanted Napier gone after last season. This has slowly changed in the fanbase just like it did for me. A light may be at the end of the tunnel so it would be foolish to make another change at HC. To that end, UF AD Scott Stricklin announced last month that Napier will be back for year 4. Maybe it is because of a large buyout, I don't know, but except for at Texas when the Gators went out there as a dead team walking with a 3rd string Ivy League transfer QB starting, the team has been improving and it's noticeable. Timely offensive plays and 7 sacks against LSU, are you kidding! I watched Josh Pate, an SEC analyst, give his thoughts on the LSU at UF game. He said he wasn't surprised UF won, and he thinks UF is on the rise. Pate said he visited UF last spring to spend a day around football operations. He claimed to be surprised with what he found as he said Billy Napier has totally rebuilt UF football so much that he felt like he was in the football offices at Alabama. The last thing he said is the players and coaches will continue to get better and that wins on the field will follow. I hope he is right; time will tell. In any event Billy Napier has the 2025 season to start producing the wins.

Yes, I heard that Napier had been given a reprieve for the time being. If he works out for the Gators, then that's great.
Mr. Pate apparently has been watching how bad LSU is, too.
My grandmother, who was born in 1893, could beat the Tigers.
