Donald Trump confirms he is prepared to declare a national emergency and use military to deport illegal immigrants

Incoming president Donald Trump has confirmed he is ready to declare a national emergency and use the military to deport illegal immigrants from America.

Responding to a post on Truth Social made by activist Tom Fitton, who said the 'incoming Trump administration [are] prepared to eclare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program', Trump wrote: 'TRUE!!!'

Trump has long promised not only to curb illegal immigration, but to deport those who currently live in the US.

He said just days after winning the 2024 election that his fight to deport an estimated 11million people would have no 'price tag.'

He told NBC: 'Really, we have no choice. When people have killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here. There is no price tag.'

Did Congress also authorize the Secretary of Defense to, upon request from the Secretary of Homeland Security, assist in domestic law enforcement efforts to prevent terrorists, illegal drugs, and illegal aliens from entering the United States?

In 2005, did Congress issue a Joint Resolution stating that:

By its express terms, the Posse Comitatus Act is not a complete barrier to the use of the Armed Forces for a range of domestic purposes, including law enforcement functions, when the use of the Armed Forces is authorized by Act of Congress or the President determines that the use of the Armed Forces is required to fulfill the President's obligations under the Constitution to respond promptly in time of war, insurrection, or other serious emergency.

Trump has done this before. He used the 'serious emergency' clause to divert money to the ill-fated wall, and IIRC, also sent active duty troops to the border to backstop the Border Patrol for a few months.
That's worrisome all by itself, but having the military knocking on doors in the middle of the night or active duty military surrounding a factory suspected of employing illegals? IMO, that's a giant step beyond the intent of any of the documents you have cited.

He could enact the Insurrection Act which allows the president, with or without the state government’s consent, to use the military to enforce federal law or suppress a rebellion against federal authority in a state, or to protect a group of people’s civil rights when the state government is unable or unwilling to do so.

If The Senile One had enforced our immigration laws, you wouldn't be having this conversation right now. In fact, Trump might not even be the incoming President
