The coaches Poll is out.... BAMA and tOSUe remain #1 and #2 in that one. Lsu remained outside the Top Ten.

Not BAMA's best game last night but I'm ok with it. The OL will gel and the starters will take root. I was worried about how focused the team would be with A&M on the horizon and it appears I had good reason. The BAMA defense was impressive. They gave up one huge, uncharacteristic 76 yard rushing TD but then they very characteristically shut the VT offense down afterwards. Keep in mind that the Hokie QB will be playing on Sundays. Saban certainly has plenty of ammo to use at practice over the next two weeks, and I wouldn't want to be on the other end of his gun. I fully expect to see a very, very fired up, physical BAMA team to take the field in College Station on September 14th. If that doesn't happen there will absolutely be no more talk of any three-peat. I predict it'll happen. Pretty much what I meant by sandbagging and not showing too much to A$M. BAMA has too many great players at the skill position for them not to continue to average 30-35 pts/gm. I agree re: the offensive line we have great players waiting for a chance and the offense will not be an issue vs a$m. I really think Maziels attitude is going to burn him against BAMA. Again, too much talent on that side of the ball. Saban and Smart will be ready for JM

Bama has a commitment, not a signed recruit. Being that he's from Louisiana, Les Miles won't give it yield sign consideration.

Signing day is four months away. Les might not give up till then but neither will Saban and the BAMA staff. Saban has been pulling top players from that state for years....like Landon Collins last season.

I don't care who he signs with. Why would I make a stupid bet about a high school kid? My main purpose was to correct the signing to a commitment.

Well, the guy's an early enrollee so that makes it a little less likely he'll change his mind. Plus he's on twitter recruiting a certain 5* RB from Louisiana to BAMA as well. He seems pretty level headed and not into the hype and attention that a lot of these recruits are these days. It's no wonder that you're now backing off your insinuation that Cam looked like a good flip candidate for Lsu.

I'm not backing off anything, just being a recruiting realist. When he enrolls, it's over, presuming he qualifies. I'm sure he isn't attending Foley HS. (shaking head)

ED, if I didn't know any better, I would say your posts sound a lot like Coonass Cop . your football knowledge far exceeds his and your hatred of BAMA and Saban are well documented

My hatred of rammer jammer and the University of Alabama for allowing it is well documented. I don't just root against bama football. I root against bama in every sport. This and bama isn't a UF rival like UGA and FSU.

My hatred of rammer jammer and the University of Alabama for allowing it is well documented. I don't just root against bama football. I root against bama in every sport. This and bama isn't a UF rival like UGA and FSU. Your jealousy of all things BAMA has been well documented. The reason the gators are not one of BAMA's rivalry games is mostly due to the fact that gator football is not historically one of the SEC's top programs. Had they been you can bet that they'd have played each other more often. Tennessee is the second winningest program in the conference and that's why BAMA plays them annually. The gators had some success briefly under spurrier before he dumped them and then another brief taste of the good life under Meyer before he dumped all over them as well. They haven't won a single national football title of any sort when one of those two coaches weren't involved. Aside from those two little stints the gators have been about the equivalent of Vandy. Ram that up your jammer

Saban does his Lou Holtz impression Yes, you read the headline right. Alabama coach Nick Saban is heaping the praise on Texas A&M's offense and in turn, adding to the anticipation of Saturday's game between the Aggies and Crimson Tide.
"Texas A&M has an outstanding team, one of the best offensive teams probably in college football, maybe in this history of college football in terms of their quarterback's ability to make plays and the great job of executing that they do," Saban said Wednesday during his SEC teleconference. "They're a very well-coached team."
That quarterback is of course Johnny Manziel, the defending Heisman Trophy winner who threw for 253 yards and ran for 92 more in Texas A&M's 29-24 win at Alabama last season, the only time the 2012 National Champs lost all season.
Saban also praised Manziel's athleticism, which was on display in that game last year and athleticism, that combined with Texas A&M's uptempo attack, gives defensive coordinators fits.
Through two games (admittedly vs. Rice and Sam Houston State), Texas A&M has scored 52 and 65 points respectively, and rolled up 1200 yards of offense.
Has Saban come around on those fast-paced offenses too? He's previously questioned player safety by virtue of those offense because of the increased plays per game. But he'd also be the first person to tell you that the reason many teams are rushing to cram more plays per game is because of its effectiveness.
Saban isn't shy about complimenting other teams, especially if they've beaten his. However, given his disdain for distractions and the hype that surround games like Saturday's between the two schools, it's a bit surprising to see him heighten the excitement.
