A lot of these football games so far have had razor-thin margins relative to point spreads-- as in that Alabama- Texas A&M game, which came down to 1/2 point at the end of the game. So, picking some of these winners has been like throwing darts with a blindfold on. We'll have to see how people's luck averages out over the season. If Boychick continues to excel, I'll own that he is good at this game.
I've missed a few flamers so far-- like picking Cal to beat Northwestern and Penn State over Central Florida. I haven't watched many of these teams play football lately, and probably won't watch most of them this year. Life is too short to spend more than three hours per week watching football games, IMO.

Well damn, the spread has opened from -15 1/2 to -17 UF. I'm considering taking UT and the points. The best team in the nation was only -27 against the vols. UF doesn't have the kind of offense or HC to cover -17. Even with UT's troubles, it won't be like playing Toledo, an 18 point UF win:

If UF ran an up tempo offense, I'd take the -17 with no regret. I may still do it going with the heart, but given that UF doesn't run up tempo, I don't know that -17 is very smart.
Yes, the 1 1/2 points makes a difference. There were several games last weekend that 1/2 point made a difference.
