we're extending arts and crafts time by four hours today!"
"My fingers hurt."
"What's that?"
"My fingers hurt."
"Oh well, now your back's gonna hurt cause you just pulled landscaping duty. Anybody else's fingers hurt? I didn't think so."
Ok boys....short week, get your picks in fast.
WEDNESDAY GAME
Ball State +7 at Northern Illinois. No bullshit, Ball State is 9-1. NIU is undefeated and trying to hold on for another BCS bowl berth. I think Jordan Lynch is too good. NIU.
THURSDAY GAME
Georgia Tech +10 1/2 at Clemson. Georgia Tech is still in the thick of the Coastal division race. Clemson is trying to hold onto a BCS bowl bid. GT loses, they're effectively eliminated from the Coastal. Must win for both teams' post season goals. Clemson.
SATURDAY GAMES
Miami -3 at Duke. The other huge battle in the ACC for the Coastal chase. Miami is on life support after losing badly to VT last weekend. If the Dukies win, they only have Wake Forest and UNC standing in their way. I'm really pulling for Duke in this game, and think they have a good shot. What the hell. Blue Devils in a squeaker!!!
Texas Tech +27 at Baylor. Just a couple of weeks ago, this looked like it could be a great game. Three straight losses later, TT is on life support. Baylor is rolling, but 4 touchdowns is a bunch. I'll stick with Baylor, they made me a believer after covering against the Sooners.
Oregon State +13 1/2 at Arizona State. After climbing back into the rankings following a stunning loss to Eastern Washington to open the season, the Beavers have dropped 2 in a row, including getting handily spanked at home by USC. Arizona State pulled out a win in the waning moments against a Utah team that gives everyone trouble at home. I think Oregon State is overrated...Sun Devils roll...damnit don't let me down.
Georgia +3 1/2 at Auburn. The Bulldogs head over to the Plains to play a resurgent and rolling Auburn team that is licking its chops right now to show they are top dog in the SEC. Georgia is sort of hanging around, after holding on to beat UF and whipping Appy State last weekend. I think Auburn is on a roll right now, and that running game is going to wear down UGA. Tigers.
Oklahoma State -3 at Texas. The Cowboys have won 5 in a row. The Longhorns held on in overtime against West Virginia. I sort of think Texas is a bit of a fraud this year, and Oklahoma State is legit. The Cowboys play Baylor next weekend... Oklahoma State.
Michigan State -6 1/2 at Nebraska. For some reason, the Hilton line doesn't exist for this game, but the -6 1/2 is across the board for other hotels...so we'll go with that one. Michigan State, to me, looked like they were going to cruise in this game and into the Big 10 Championship Game until Nebraska held on to beat Michigan. I still think Michigan is sort of like a lesser Florida....on the edge of implosion...whereas the Gators are a full on dumpster fire. I think Sparty is good enough to roll into the game against Ohio State and see how good they are...
Stanford -4 1/2 at Southern California. Three weeks ago, I thought this was a much different game than it has turned out to be. Stanford loses, and Oregon gets back into the driver's seat for the PAC12 North. The issue though, is that USC is short on depth, and if there is one thing that Stanford does...it is wear you down. The Tree.
Houston +16 1/2 at Louisville. The Cougars covered last weekend on the road at UCF. They had a chance to win in the final minute from the 10 yard line, but came up a little short. Now they head to Louisville. Do the Cougars cover again? My opinion...no. Spent their wad...no chance to win the AAC anymore. Louisville.
The price is wrong....bitch.

On our first date my now wife and I went to dinner and then came back to my place and we watched Happy Gilmore. We watched it for about 15 minutes and then....hey, lets get on with the picks.
Ball St +7 at N. Illinois (Had no idea Ball St was 9-1, NIU wins though) N ILLINOIS
Georgia Tech +10.5 at Clemson (I don't like the spread here, it scares me, but since its at Death valley) CLEMSON
Miami FL -3 at Duke (Only a 3pt favorite over Duke, how far down has Miami gone) MIAMI FL
Texas Tech +27 at Baylor (Tech has no D and Baylor will score a lot, but will Tech score enough to cover) BAYLOR
Oregon St +13.5 at Arizona St (OSU played Stanford tough and AZ St only won by 1 at Utah) OREGON STATE
Georiga +3.5 at Auburn (This game scares me, I can see UGA winning) AUBURN
Oklahoma St -3 at Texas (Who would've thought Texas would be 5-0 in the Big 12) OKLAHOMA STATE
Michigan St -6.5 at Nebraska (The game to determine who plays Ohio St in the Big 10 CG) MICHIGAN STATE
Stanford -4.5 at USC (After beating Oregon, this has trap game written all over it) STANFORD
Houston +16.5 at Louisville (Thats a lot of points, Houston nearly beat UCF) LOUISVILLE
and you can count on me waiting for you in the parking lot!

Noon? On a Wednesday? Really? Dude, that is just plain cruel. This game doesn't start until 8 PM and you're asking me to post my blind guesses at noon? My magic 8-ball doesn't even work until 2PM, so what am I supposed to use to help me divine the future? Hold on a minute....I think I still have official "Dungeons and Dragons" polyhedral dice set.... now where is that icosahedron? There we go. Here are my picks.....
Ball State +7 at Northern Illinois. Tough call, since neither team has had to face more than 1 or 2 teams with a winning record. A poisoned orc arrow pierces your quarterback leaving his left arm numb and you're forced to depend on your running game. Northern Illinois
THURSDAY GAME
Georgia Tech +10 1/2 at Clemson. A level 3 wizard casts a sleep spell on your pass defense. Your opponent runs wild. Clemson.
SATURDAY GAMES
Miami -3 at Duke. Miami looked dazed and confused after a couple of turnovers against VT last week. A level 1 wizard throws a "mocking spell" on the Duke crowd, which starts to chant "We're back!" every time Miami touches the ball. Duke
Texas Tech +27 at Baylor. Not really "at" Baylor, per se. Your quarterback steps on a trap door and breaks his leg. When he takes his healign potion he recovers from a condition he didn't even know he had and leads your team to a less embarrassing defeat! Texas Tech
Oregon State +13 1/2 at Arizona State. Arizona State wants desperately to be a Pac-12 contender....if they get a chance they'll RUTS OSU for style points. After trouble at home you decide to go on a quest to find a chest filled with magical remedies to save your season. Bad move. Arizona State.
Georgia +3 1/2 at Auburn. You head across the hills to confront a ragged band of orcs and goblins you've heard are ransacking villages on your frontier. The reports are wrong. They aren't orcs OR goblins, they are Uruk Hai. And you didn't bring enough healing potions. Can you say "good old fashioned ass-kicking" in dwarf tongue? Auburn
Oklahoma State -3 at Texas. Wandering across the open plains your find a chest with a rare commodity in Big "whatever" country... a defense with a pulse. You try it on. It fits. Now will it work? You head to Tejas to try it out. Oklahoma State.
Michigan State -6 1/2 at Nebraska. While defending your home territory your enemy brings a trained cave-troll named Farty to break down your doors. He unleashes a deadly gas attack. Throw a 16-sided damage dice to see if you'll merely lose or if you collapse in a whimpering heap in front of your home crowd. Michigan State.
Stanford -4 1/2 at Southern California. You travel to the fringes of your territory to confront a band or fighting Uruk Hai that are threatening to lay waste to every village in sight. Instead you find a gang of flying monkey flinging feces at passerby. You bitch-slap them into submission and then head to the local inn to party with some Song Girls. Stanford.
Houston +16 1/2 at Louisville. It's your turn to throw the dice to see what magic spell your wizard will cast. Everyone else playing the game leaves out of boredom. Does a spell work if nobody sees it? Louisville covers, but ESPN forgets to mention it until Sunday afternoon.
There. I'm done. With 4 minutes to spare.

if putting a golf ball w/a hockey stick gets me julie bowen in the end, sign me up.
ball st +7 at n illinois. huskies on way to 4th straight 10+ win season. they're an impressive 13-8 as home chalk. but... letterman u is an amazing 18-5 getting points on the road. bsu is playing w/quadruple revenge, and the road team has covered the last 4 in the series. upset. ball st.
ga tech +10.5 at clemson. after 2 mediocre wins wrapped around the fsu blowout loss, cu got back on track at uva. but gt is tough to prepare for, and is 5-1 w/revenge off a win. i think the tigers have to work some to win this one. ga tech.
miami fl -3 at duke. 2 teams headed in opposite directions for the last month. canes miss johnson big time, and as a result their d is on the field more. last yr duke put up 45 pts/583 yards on the u, and the dukies are better this year. devils a dog in their home finale off 5 straight wins? i'll take it. duke.
texas tech +27 vs baylor. neutral site at jerry world for this one. baylor d impressed me vs okla, last 3 games between these 2 has averaged 96 ppg total. but off back to back losses as a home favorite, i think tech scores enough to stay within the number. texas tech.
oregon st. +13.5 at arizona st. asu is 6-2 as chalk at home. also has revenge from last year's loss at corvalis + they're 7-0 as a home fave w/revenge off back/back wins. beavs are a good road dog, tho (15-6), 6-0 away off a bye, and 18-3 ats off back/back losses vs a league foe. don't like going against those trends, but... arizona state.
georgia +3.5 at auburn. au is on a roll, but did you know that since they won the bcs in '10, they've covered just one game as home chalk vs a bcs level opponent, and that was 2 years ago? uga's outscored war eagle 83-7 the last 2 years, and au is 8-1 ats in that kind of revenge spot. dawgs are a different team w/gurley on the field. i like 2 dimensions on o better than 1. georgia.
oklahoma st. -3 at texas. i could only find 2 times the horns have been home dogs in the last decade. both were vs okla st, and the cowboys won/covered both. visitor has also won 5 of the last 6 here, but ever since the blow out loss to ol' miss, brown's team has rallied. texas.
michigan st. -6.5 at nebraska. osu could use a dominating sparty win here, and their d is awesome. but unl just did about the same to michigan that msu did. still not confident that qb cook can perform on the road vs a quality foe. huskers have beaten msu two straight, and now are getting pts at home for the first time in 4 years. they've showed some pluck in pulling out the last 2, and i think they keep this close. nebraska.
stanford -4.5 at usc. after the upset loss at utah, su has won/covered 3 in a row. they're a very good 15-5-1 as road favorites since '10. but they're just 1-7 as faves off a dog win. sc has dropped 4 straight in the series, they've found their legs, and revenge + catching the cardinal off the uo win is a good spot for the trojans. usc.
houston +16.5 at louisville. cougars are 7-3 as road dogs since '09. they impressed me in their tough loss at ucf saturday, a team that beat the cardinals on the road. l'ville is just 1-6 ats vs league foes in their last 7 contests. vegas lines for l'ville games are reflecting last year, not this year. houston.
9 dogs. woof woof.
