once again, this team just can't shoot from the field. how they were down only 5 when they hit only 34% in the 1st half was a miracle. and once again, behind 50-47 w/14:00 left in the game, the bucks went ice cold in a key stretch, going 5:00+ w/o a made basket, hitting 3-4 from the line but going 0-4 from the field w/3 turnovers in that stretch, and finding themselves down 61-50. by the time they made their next bucket 2:00 later it was 64-52. and that was basically it. it was only making a few buckets at the end that got tosu above 40% for the game. only 6 assists, again. that combination is a huge problem. this team just doesn't, or can't, set each other up on offense... whether it's sets or on a break. it was great seeing thornton finally looking for his shot and seeing them drop (22 pts on 10-13 shooting) but holtmann tried bringing sensabaugh off the bench for a chance up and bryce didn't react well... going just 4-14 from the field, 1-4 from 3 and fouling out after just 26 minutes. other than thornton, the team made only 16-51... 31%. key, mcneil, likekele, okpara, brown and gayle went a combined 7-25. 28%. whether that's a result of poor offensive strategy by holtmann/staff or just bad luck or just bad shooting, there's not a chance in hell this team can win games w/o shooting above 45%. and in this horrible streak they're in, only 1 of the losses did the bucks shoot above 44%. most of them were like sunday, right around or below 40%. this team is ok at defending, decent rebounding but not dominant, and definitely doesn't have quality ball distribution from the point. the only thing left is shooting. and it's not like this team has a lousy % because they're taking a bunch of bad jumpers... there were half a dozen attempts at layup distance yesterday that didn't go down. that's why I hesitate to throw it all on the coach. even when they set themselves up like the scheme is designed the shots aren't dropping. but heat holtmann is getting. there's not been a losing record here in 20 years (o'brien's last season '03-'04, 14-16), and there's not much time left to turn this year around. next year's incoming class means there'll be no coaching change til the end of next season imho, but the atmosphere here is as chilly as the shooting. lol

Holtmann has a year to save his job

well I’m at the n’western game, and we’re down 17-15 w 7:40 left. and once again, we’re 4+ minutes w/o a bucket or even a point. plus key has reinjured his shoulder. bad because he’s the only guy hustling on offense to get his shot so far
one good thing? we have 5 assists already. 1 less than the entire um game.

I think he has 3 turnovers, no points.
