Well, SOMEONE had to do it...the Buckeyes are a major player in both, and of only a handful of teams to win National Championships in Football and Basketball, and of the select few who have won men's NCs in football, baseball, and basketball. People may not like to bounce back & forth, but if someone from someplace else is looking for basketball stuff, they should at least know we're PROUD of our programs. (if that person from another school is looking for info, and there's nothing here but THIS post, hopefully you'll find what you're looking for on the OSU CFB board)

Matta isn't having a good year in his coaching. He blew the PSU game. Granted, the players should have been able to beat PSU, but they had nobody in the "corner" when they got in some trouble. There were some serious coaching blunders in the UM game last night also. Not sure why he goes into a "prevent offense" game plan when up by 8-10 points. just my $0.02 worth.

I think CBB is worse than CFB with players jumping due to the one & done to the NBA. Really makes it difficult to know how much talent to chase & plan ahead to try to keep a team together. Sometimes you guess right, sometimes you pick up slugs who can't/won't improve. I think Thad came up a little short this year.

When Matta has the players, he's a top notch coach. It's kind of funny how that works out. tOSU will get the players being the program that it is.

Oh well...4 out of 5, and 5 of 7 since that streak ended. Craft seems to be ready to step up, now that he know no one else is going to. I think he's capable, he'd just rather dish than score himself...

Craft was able to score because the guard wouldn't stay with him through the three zones in half court. I gotta ask though.....are the B10 refs this year all blind and just call fouls because they suspect one happened? Craft makes a clean steal.....foul Craft gets taken down by the power forward in a Big Time Wrasslin move, and the refs just keep jogging down the court Amir Williams shouldn't get the starting position in the next game. McDonald shows he wants to play. But!!!! Geeezy petes!!! somebody show the kid how to shoot free throws. Only Wilt Chamberlin was worse.

Re: free throws, it seems to go in cycles, just like the rest of the team's shooting. When they are on, they are clutch. When they aren't, it is head-scratchingly bad. There is more than enough talent to beat an awful lot of teams but I just can't see them putting it all together long enough and consistently enough to string wins together in March to be a factor. Hope I am wrong. Way wrong...

Read on 11W the review showed the NW guy swung a fist, (their definition of fighting)while LQR only pushed, which was a technical foul, with the double T, he was ejected for the remainder of the game only...
Ray Perone, lead official Statement regarding the eligibility status of Cerina and Ross
“By rule, No. 45 [Nikola Cerina] for Northwestern after he committed the common foul, a push on No. 23 [Amir Williams], took a swing with a closed fist or closed hand at No. 23 for Ohio State. That act is deemed to be fighting by rule, which is Rule 10, Section 5, Article 8: ‘Any time an individual uses a closed fist in an unsportsmanlike manner it shall be deemed that the individual has initiated a fighting act and be penalized accordingly.’ He does not have to make contact – the fact he swings with a closed fist is deemed to be a fighting act. No. 45 for Northwestern was disqualified for fighting and that carries a penalty (Rule 10, Section 5, Article 11): ‘The first time an individual participates in a fight during the season the individual shall be suspended from participating in the team’s next regular season game.’ No. 10 [LaQuinton Ross] for Ohio State was disqualified for two deadball contact technical fouls, which results in disqualification. No. 10 was not disqualified for fighting and will not be suspended for the next game.”
