Upon reflection...I should have. Shoulda suggested it. I couldn't as 4 or 5 had already posted their picks before I got to the thread. My pick would have been Stanford. I also thought Notre Dame at Syracuse could have been a possibility. I would have taken ND in that one. When you put UNC at Clemson and Minn at Mich up, I had to go do some research on the Big Ten game before I could post my selections. Clemson was an easy pick, but I still don't have a clue about Minn at Mich. I laid the points and took the home team.

I have the same problem evaluating SEC games that don't include Bubba, The Barn, UGA, LSU & TAMU. If I saw Fla V Mizzou as a pick or any other game involving other tier II SEC programs, I'd throw up my hands and bring out the Magic 8 ball. And for one game, Ol' Magic 8 Ball has been right on.

Hence the reason I try to have games from all over the country...that way everyone can feel like they're picking games that they have a grasp of.
With 2 games, I generally aim for 2 games each out of the big 5, and then the other 2 "best" games. I don't always do it that way perfectly...but that's the general idea. I took Minn-Mich is that it was the Big 10 game I liked best, and the only other game we had with a big 10 team in it was Ohio State and Cincy. The same reasoning goes for Clemson-UNC to pair up with Duke-Miami.
Like I said...I shoulda put Stanford-UW as opposed to Cal-Colorado. Bonehead play on my part.

IMO, Colorado will still finish last in the PAC 12 this year. Washington remains a bit of a mystery. They are 4-0, with the former Denver Mullen HS QB at the helm, but have played erratically so far under Chris Petersen. Washington State came within a bad call of OT against Oregon last week. Keep them in mind for future CFB douche tournament picks.

When I did the picks, it didn't occur to me that Washington was still undefeated...and with Stanford still ranked, it would have been a better game. Washington State is 1-3...they aren't getting on the list anytime soon. Maybe for the Apple Cup.

Stanford this season isn't the same Stanford as it has been, IMO, and the Dogs are on the upswing. Sometime soon, the lesser of the two teams, (UDub) is going to cross over to become the better team. This might be the game.

For shits and giggles:
Stanford -7 1/2 at Washington:
Walt takes the Huskies. Right now, Stanford ranks #73 in the nation in rushing offense. Somethin' just doesn't seem right with that. Granted, Stanford has only given up 13 points all year. That's good enough for #1 scoring defense. They're also #1 in total defense. And #1 in passing defense. Washington, after a tight 17-16 win at Hawaii, has gone on a scoring binge, putting up 59, 44, and 45 points in their last three games. With the game in Seattle, I like the Huskies to be pumped. That half point is tantalizing.
Since it's just for giggles....I'll take the Huskies also.
