Much higher than OU has scored all year - I'm not buying it: Final: Oklahoma 198.50 (nation's high of 2015) #Gators: 198.10 (2nd highest road score of 2015) Looks like a bit too much home cooking to me. Yeah, that must have been it. That's right. UF had the previous nation high of 198.225. LSU topped that last night with a 198.375. OU consistently scores around 198. No team in the nation including OU has approached what the judges said the sooners did last night. All it takes in a close meet is to throw the home team the benefit of the doubt as in the multiple 10s awarded while not doing the same for the visitor. I've followed gymnastics all season and enough to know a score like 198.500 should prompt a review of the fairness of the judging. Come nationals, OU won't get that home cooking. There's no way OU beats UF by .4 when UF scores 198.100 come nationals. Both teams will flirt with 198.250, but not 198.500. Of course, Florida HC Rhonda Faehn said all of the right things, but I said what she can't and won't about the home cooking. First she acknowledged that OU was lights out. She followed that by saying how glad she was to have Bridgett Sloan back on the bars and beam while hoping to have her back for all around by nationals. She said Sloan's beam that was judged at 9.925 had no flaws and she thought it was a 10. She closed out saying it was a great meet by both programs. To me, that implies she doesn't believe the .4 difference last night either. Kitra Hunter had a 9.975 on the beam which means one judge awarded her a 10 and the other a 9.5. This is just on the beam where UF didn't get the benefit of the doubt while OU was awarded two 10s in the meet. Yep, home cooking.

Yeah, that must have been it. That's right. UF had the previous nation high of 198.225. And you did that at home, right? So, why isn't that also an example of home cooking? LSU topped that last night with a 198.375. OU consistently scores around 198. No team in the nation including OU has approached what the judges said the sooners did last night. All it takes in a close meet is to throw the home team the benefit of the doubt as in the multiple 10s awarded while not doing the same for the visitor. To me, that implies she doesn't believe the .4 difference last night either. Frankly, I couldn't care less what Rhonda Faehn said. Your team scores consistently higher at home than on the road, right? Why is it you see no home cooking there as well? Kitra Hunter had a 9.975 on the beam which means one judge awarded her a 10 and the other a 9.5. This is just on the beam where UF didn't get the benefit of the doubt while OU was awarded two 10s in the meet. Yep, home cooking. Sour grapes.

The difference you haven't acknowledged is what OU scored was much higher than even their own comfort zone at home. UF was more in line with what UF normally does. I'm just saying the judging was biased to OU at a higher level than normal. If that's sour grapes, so be it. I call it a dose of honesty. Again, OU won't get those 10s in the nationals and judges will be more fair to all of the participating teams in giving equal scores for equal performances.
Insofar as home scores being higher than on the road is concerned, I acknowledge having a home crowd cheering for you helps. However, UF is a veteran team that scored the 198.100 with nobody in the gym rooting for them do to anything other than fail. The Gators have lost close road meets at LSU, at bama, and now at OU. Neither LSU or bama scored anything close to 198.500. OU hasn't shown they are 198.500 good either in anything other than this one meet. It's clearly outside their norm even for home.

Florida scored 198.10 on the road....something they had not done this year. As for home cooking? Last year, OU went to Gainesville and came away with their lowest score of the year in a dual meet. Yet, I don't recall anybody talking about home cooking. Not me, and certainly not you. Scores are going to be lower at nationals for everybody, which is common when there are several teams competing instead of just two. If the judges are stingy with their scores, as is likely with so many good gymnasts competing, that is fine just as long as they are consistent with everyone. But, no matter what happens it has no bearing or relevance to last night.

However, when Rhonda Faehn says she saw Bridget Sloan hit a 10 on the beam, I believe her. The 9.925 was clearly too low. The same is probably true for some other high Gator scores too, say Kitra Hunter and likely Alexis McMurtry. It will be closer at nationals than the .4 difference. The sooners are not that much better than the Gators. I did get to watch the meet last season. OU had some flubs to account for their score. I was surprised the sooners were able to match the Gators at nationals. That was a feather in their caps. Unfortunately, the best meet of this year won't be televised any where I can watch it.

You claim that Kytra Hunter was being jobbed by the judges, yet the fact is she won the all-around. That makes no sense. None.

I've seen Kitra Hunter's beam several times this season. When she hits it, it's a 10. It's like the judges went out of there way to give a 9.975 instead of what she deserved. That's .1 just on Sloan and Hunter on the beam. I can well imagine an OU 10 as a UF 9+ and other Gators being jobbed here and there. When Sloan and Hunter gets jobbed, UF's top 2 gymnasts, the others get less credit down the line too. Harry, I'm know both teams are outstanding. I just smell a rat in the judging.

The written comments sometimes leaves things out. This is Rhonda Faehn in her own words after the meet. Bridget Sloan was judged as a 9.925, but clearly Rhonda thought it was a 10:
I've checked my program listings for Fox Sports and I do not have access to the replay tonight at midnight EST.

UF had a small lead after the bars and vault. The judging flipped to advantage OU on the floor and beam. It looks like OU was going to get the win come hell or high water. UF has some excellent floor routines, but look at that difference. (shaking head) Ok, it's sour grapes, but I still smell a rat at the judges tables:

No. 2 Gator gymnastics finishes regular season with win over Texas Woman’s University; Bridget Sloan scores uneven bars 10.0
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 2 Gator gymnastics team completed 2015 home action Friday with a 197.90 – 193.40 win over Texas Woman’s University Friday night in front of a Stephen C. O’Connell Center crowd of 4,236.
Collegiate Gymnasts with 10.0
in each event
This is an unofficial list of collegiate gymnasts who have earned a 10.0 on each apparatus.

Bridget Sloan, Florida 2013-present
Courtney Kupets, Georgia 2006-09
Kristen Maloney, UCLA 2001-05
Karin Lichey, Georgia 1996-99
Heather Stepp, Georgia 1990-93
Kristen Kenoyer, Utah 1990-93
Missy Marlowe, Utah 1989-92
The regular season finale brought the final 10.0 for junior All-American Bridget Sloan to complete her share of every Florida event record. Sloan, the defending NCAA uneven bars champion, brought the O’Connell Center crowd to their feet with her 10.0 on the event. She is the first Gator to earn a 10.0 on each apparatus in the program’s 44-year history.
Sloan also topped the evening’s vault standings at 9.95. It was her first vault performance since she opened the season with a 10.0 on the event on Jan. 11. She severely sprained her right ankle during that meet’s floor exercise competition and has been easing her way back into competition over the last five meets. She has competed bars the last five meets, beam the last two and vault tonight.
Florida Event Winners Friday
Vault: Bridget Sloan 9.95
Uneven Bars: Bridget Sloan 10.0
Balance Beam: Claire Boyce 9.925
Floor Exercise: Kytra Hunter 9.975
All-Around: Kytra Hunter 39.675
Another Gator returned from a break due to injury to win an event Friday. Sophomore Claire Boyce sat out balance beam competition last week at No. 1 Oklahoma to rest a leg injury. She was back in the beam lineup tonight, taking her fifth win of the season with a 9.925.
Senior All-American Kytra Hunter collected the 20th all-around win of her career with a total of 39.675. It is her eight all-around win of the season and tonight’s total gives her four totals which rank among the nation’s top 10 of the season. Hunter was nearly perfect on floor, as her 9.975 mark equals her season high for the third time. It was her fifth win on the event this season. She is the nation’s top-ranked competitor on the latest GymInfo rankings for both events she won Friday.
Gator Performance Notes:
· Sloan has scored a pair of 10.0 in each of the last two seasons. Her first came on floor exercise (vs. Georgia/2014) and then on balance beam (at Kentucky/2015). She opened 2015 with a vault 10.0 (at Ball State/2015) and tonight added an uneven bars 10.0. She is believed to be the first collegiate gymnast since Georgia’s Courtney Kupets (2006-2009) to post a 10.0 on each event.
· Florida’s uneven bars record of 10.0 is now shared by six Gators, who have turned in the mark eight times on the event. The record was set March 22, 1996 when both Kristen Guise and Amy Myerson turned in the mark. The last uneven bars 10.0 was by Mackenize Caquatto on Jan. 18, 2013.
· Senior Kiersten Wang equaled her collegiate-bests of 9.925 (floor) and 9.90 (vault) to take a least a share of second of both events tonight. She has turned in her vault best five times in 2015, including each of the last three meets. She set her collegiate floor best of 9.925 earlier this season versus Kentucky.
· Hunter’s floor win is her 27th, putting her one behind the school-record of floor wins set by Gator Hall of Fame member Melissa Miller (1986-89). Hunter already owns UF’s vault record with 20 wins over her career.
Records: Florida (7-3, 5-2 SEC); TWU (5-11).
The Series: Tonight was the first meeting between the two programs. Florida now leads 1-0.
Senior Night Highlights:
Friday was the final home appearance for Gator seniors Hunter, Jamie Shisler, Rachel Spicer and Wang. Three were part of the competitive lineup tonight, with trio turning in at least one season-best mark Friday – Hunter (floor/9.975), Spicer (beam/9.90) and Wang (vault/9.90 and floor/9.925).
Even Shisler got in a final performance in front of the O’Connell Center crowd. Shisler tore her Achilles tendon while warming up floor at the Jan. 11 season opener, so has been sidelined all season. But tonight she stepped onto the floor exercise mat (albeit still in a medical boot on her right foot) and performed the early dance portion of her floor routine – just enough to get in a final “chomp” with the crowd.
This senior class, which has been a part of both of Florida’s NCAA title teams, finishes with an unblemished 28-0 record in the O’Connell Center.
Quoting the Gators:
On what she told the seniors after the meet:
“I told them I loved them and that it was just an honor to be able to coach them and just to see them mature. I also told them that we have a lot more to do and that we have even more greatness. Kiersten [Wang] said, ‘Yup, the best is yet to come,’ and so I said, ‘I love that answer.’” - Florida Head Coach Rhonda Faehn
On her confidence level:
“I definitely didn’t know if I was going to get it, but every single time I go up for a routine I just want to hit it as strong as possible. Going up there tonight, in my mind I was thinking, ‘This is my last chance to really get a 10 at home,’ because I’ve only gotten one 10 at home and beam and vault were both away so in my mind I was thinking, ‘All right, if I’m going to get a 10 it’s going to be tonight.’ And since my parents were here they’ve actually witnessed every single 10 I’ve gotten so they’re my good luck charms.
“But going up tonight, I just wanted to hit a solid routine. I’ve been working really hard in practice – the whole team has – on our feet just because that’s what we’ve been getting the most deductions on because we weren’t quite used to it yet. Every single one of us tonight as soon as we landed we brought those heels together. Tonight I made sure that I brought my heels together before I saluted.” – junior All-American Bridget Sloan
On Bridget Sloan’s 10.0 on bars:
“Now she has them on all four events! I was so excited for her. The last home meet when she came back, I thought that was just a phenomenal routine, but this one, she really worked every handstand, and she held it, didn’t she? It was almost like an exclamation point, like you’re going to give me this 10 because I’m going to hit every handstand, and I’m not only going to stick my dismount, I’m going to hold it and I’m going to pull my feet together and soak it in. I loved it, and I think it was very well-deserved.” - Florida Head Coach Rhonda Faehn
On her 9.975 on floor:
“We all have our favorite events, and floor is the last event at home. I wanted to put an exclamation point on my meet tonight. Today I felt more relaxed, which isn’t always a good thing, but I just picked it up a little on floor and that was the best routine I’ve done all year. I’m really happy with myself and happy to leave the O’Dome the way I finished off.” – senior All-America Kytra Hunter
On this meet being a tune-up for the SEC Championships:
“We were hoping it would be the lead-up to SECs, but we had to make some adjustments in warm-ups. Kennedy [Baker] was absent from a few of the events. Her ankle kind of flared up a little bit in warm-ups and it was sore, and we just made the decision to not push it so that she could be 100 percent fresh for SECs. It wasn’t quite exactly what we were planning on doing, but at the same time, every single competition you don’t always know exactly what’s going to happen. Somebody could get sick, or something could happen in warm-ups, so I love that they were prepared. When I came over during floor warm-ups, I told Ericha [Fassbender] she was in and she said, ‘Absolutely.’ They just took it really with ease, so that’s always important.” - Florida Head Coach Rhonda Faehn
On the high competition level at next Saturday’s SEC Championships:
“The SEC Championship is always a phenomenal competition. It is just loaded. I’ve often said that I’ve felt the SEC Championship is sometimes more challenging than qualifying into the Super Six, simply because our conference is so strong.
“It is just intense energy. I love the competition. It’s kind of hard because everyone goes at the same time, so it’s harder for a fan because it’s not alternating like we have when we’re at home. At the same time, that makes for an incredible amount of energy, and our team loves it and they feed off of it because they’re going one right after another. It’s exciting.” - Florida Head Coach Rhonda Faehn
On competing in every event at every meet this season:
“I’m feeling great, it’s definitely an improvement throughout all four years. That’s life of gymnastics, being able to improve. I think this year physically and mentally I’ve been my best and most consistent. I worked really hard during the preseason and something I really worked on was my bars. My bars has gotten a lot better, and that’s always exciting and it’s fun to bring something new to the crowd.” – senior All-American Kytra Hunter
On her last meet at the O’Connell Center:
“It hasn’t hit me yet, but I’m focused on finishing the season off strong. I’m really excited for the accomplishments to come. It’s going to hit me when spring comes back around and I’m not running out of that Gator head. It’s a part of life, these are my four years and we all reach those four years, and sometimes it comes faster than we realize. But for anyone else, just enjoy it. I definitely did.” – senior All-American Kytra Hunter
On how her injury is coming along:
“My foot is actually feeling great. I was a little concerned for vault because, personally, I thought vault was going to be the worst because it’s kind of a hard landing, but vault was awesome for me tonight. Overall I feel absolutely incredible.” – junior All-America Bridget Sloan
On the mixed emotions of Senior Night:
“Senior Night. It’s one of those meets, I was telling the freshmen, ‘I really hate this meet.’ It’s my least favorite meet of all season, yet I absolutely love this meet. It’s the last time we compete in the O’Dome for the season, but it’s the last time I’ll compete in the O’Dome with our seniors.” - junior All-America Bridget Sloan

About the 2015 SEC Field:
Five of the nation’s top-10 teams (No. 2 Florida, No.3 LSU, No. 5 Alabama, No. 8 Auburn and No. 9 Georgia) are among the eight-team SEC field. Of the nation’s top 20 team scores posted this season, nine came from SEC programs, including six of the top 10.
In addition, an all-around total of 39.60 or above has been posted 35 times this season among the nation’s collegiate gymnasts – and SEC gymnasts have 18 of those marks. The nation’s top three all-around totals of 2015 have been turned in five times by (and only) SEC gymnasts.
Florida in the regular-season finale:
Florida used the nation’s top total of last weekend to finish regular-season action with a 197.90-193.40 home win over Texas Woman’s University. Junior All-American Bridget Sloan completed her “GymSlam” with her uneven bars 10.0. She is the first Gator in the program’s 43-year history to earn a 10.0 on each apparatus. Sloan is the seventh collegiate competitor to complete a “GymSlam” and the first since Georgia’s Courtney Kupets, who finished her career in 2009. Sloan also returned to the vault lineup – her first appearance since scoring a vault 10.0 at the Jan. 11 season opener – and won the event title at 9.95.
Sophomore Claire Boyce returned to the balance beam lineup to use a 9.925 to take her fifth win on the event this season. She sat out last week’s beam competition to rest a muscle pull.
Senior All-American Kytra Hunter collected both the floor exercise (9.975) and all-around (39.675) titles in her final Stephen C. O’Connell Center appearance. The all-around win is the 20th of her career and the eighth of the season. She is also one away from tying Florida’s record for career floor wins, which stands at 29. Hunter is the nation’s top all-arounder, based on regional qualifying score and is the only gymnast who appears among the top 25 on each of the five event rankings.
SEC Weekly Honors go to Kytra Hunter and Bridget Sloan
For their performances in the regular-season finale, Hunter picked up her fourth SEC Gymnast of the Week honor and Sloan shared the SEC Specialist of the Week award with LSU’s Lloimincia Hall.
At least one Gator has picked up league honors in nine of 10 weeks of the regular season - SEC Gymnast of Week: Hunter-Week IV, VI, IX and X; Specialist of the Week: Sloan-Week I and X; Alex McMurtry -Week II; SEC Freshman of Week: Kennedy Baker-Week II, IV, VI and VIII; Ericha Fassbender Week V; McMurtry Week VII).
At the 2014 SEC Championships:
The Gators were second at the 2014 SEC Championships held in Birmingham, Alabama. Florida’s held a 0.125 lead over Alabama heading into the final rotation. The Gators’ floor scores couldn’t keep pace with Alabama’s bars marks, as the Tide turned in a meet-record of 49.65 on their finishing event. Alabama won its eighth SEC title at 197.875 while Florida was second at 197.70. LSU was third at 197.325, followed by Georgia (197.15), Auburn (195.55), Kentucky (195.075), Arkansas (194.90) and Missouri (194.65).
For the third consecutive year, a Gator claimed the SEC all-around title, as Bridget Sloan took her second consecutive league crown at 39.70. Teammate Kytra Hunter’s 39.65 was second. Hunter also won the SEC balance beam (9.925) and shared the floor title (9.95). It was her second consecutive SEC floor win. Both were joined on the All-SEC team by 2014 seniors Mackenzie Caquatto and Alaina Johnson.
