www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/2015/01/15/penn-state-ncaa-mark-emmert-death-penalty-consent-decree-rodney-erickson/21826697/nice full length feature by USA Today summarizing the state of the lawsuit vs the ncaa so far. it would seem that either emmert or ed ray perjured themselves as their testimony in recent depositions contradict each other. emmert testified that the consensus of the executive board was to suspend play while ed ray testified that only 2 members of the executive board was in favor of the death penalty. ed ray was one of those two members who supported the death penalty even though he was just relying on press accounts of the freeh report to make an opinion.

Sounds like this is coming to an end with a settlement being reached and imo that is a good thing all the way around. As for perjury, frustrating as it may be I doubt if what you describe above fits the definition.

I don't see how the 2 suits can be included in a settlement unless the Paterno family agrees to it. And I would think the odds of that happening are about the same as the NCAA apologizing to anybody. But, who knows? Stranger things have happened.
But, as for the Paterno family....they aren't exactly on speaking terms with PSU these days, are they? Doesn't the family feel the university threw Joe under the bus?

You're splitting hairs imo. The trustees had the authority to speak for "the university" which means if Joe was thrown under the bus, the university is responsible for the heaving. And didn't the family already sue Penn State?

After reading more PSU fanatics, I'm back to believing that is exactly what SHOULD have happened... Read THIS crap -
When you think that the BWI scum on earth can't be topped...they do. Sandusky victims weren't kids, they were "thugs"...

Post #235 MyFanPage Add Buddy Ignore Answers for HoustonNit Reply First step is that we need to quit calling them victims, but refer to them as thugs, which better describe them.
Tell them how the judge at Jerry's trial thought they were sweet innocent 8-10 year old boys, however they were in actuality 12-14 year old thugs with discipline records.
Ask them if they knew that Aaron Fisher was not believed at first by the Police or the Principal at his school, because he was known as a story teller. Aaron's friends believe Aaron is lying and they know he was a wrestler and would not let Jerry have sex with him without a tremendous fight.
Matt Sandusky and Alan Myers were to testify for Jerry. They both said that Jerry never abused them or had sex with them. Myers was the boy in the showers that McQueary witnessed. Suddenly they changed their mind and got $3 million apiece for it. BTW, Shubin's teammates originally said Myers was not V2 and that is why he could not testify for Jerry. They said V2 was not identified. Recently Shubin made a mistake and admitted V2 was his client. Matt told Oprah that many walked in on Jerry performance, but were not sure what was happening. Since then, has anybody come forward? Did you know Matt has a long police record?
I believe Jerry needs a new trial, because IMO an objective jury will find Jerry innocent of any rape charges. I want this because I don't think a man should rot in jail where there is doubt.
Every Penn State supporter should support a new trial for Jerry even if you still believe he is guilty, because the rest of the country needs to know there is and has been doubt Jerry raped anyone. If the rest of the country knows there was doubt, then they will no longer blame Joe or C/S/S.
I'll spare you the follow-on comments...some were pretty nasty.

i mean if you want to lump all fans together and define them by this guys opinion, that's fine, but it is my personal belief that sandusky is guilty.

The point is he's not alone; the defenders of Sandusky, JoePa, PedState, etc, etc, etc are LEGION...at SOME point (& I believe it was some of the BOT) SOMEONE has to stand up and say that these actions, these coverups, THIS ENTIRE INCIDENT, is so horrible, so despicable, so heinous, that we are just totally FUBAR here, and no amount of excuses, beliefs, and "I wish it wasn't so's" can erase the taint.

Only as far as you people are concerned...everyone else has seen it, and many have used it, mostly in a joking manner. But again, there is NO DEFENSE for the indefensible. And you've spent a great deal of time and effort attempting to do just that.

Bye...enjoy knowing that the vast majority of America thinks you're trying to defend the indefensible...of COURSE joe knew.
