He'll probably red shirt in any case. It appears the University of Wisconsin will go the extra mile — many extra miles, actually — to help running back Corey Clement return to the field as quickly as possible. The junior was scheduled to travel to Munich, Germany, on Tuesday to receive sports hernia surgery from specialist Ulrike Muschaweck, according to a report by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Muschaweck has performed sports hernia surgeries for more than 25 years and is known worldwide for creating the “minimal repair technique” that allows athletes to return to training within a few days. UW officials would not confirm the details of Clement’s surgery. UW will be able to pay for any costs not covered by Clement’s insurance policy, according to senior associate athletic director Justin Doherty. Bylaw 16.4 of the NCAA Division I Manual states, “An institution, conference or the NCAA may provide medical and related expenses and services to a student-athlete.” “That bylaw obviously leaves each individual institution the latitude to handle these types of expenses in a manner that best fits the institution’s means and philosophies,” Doherty said in an email Wednesday. “In our case, we operate as follows. For any student-athlete who sustains an athletics-related injury, our medical personnel (team doctors and athletic trainers) decide the best course of action for treating said injury. … There is no ‘out-of-pocket’ expense to the student-athlete or his/her family.” Clement suffered what he thought was a groin injury Sept. 1 and attempted to play in the Badgers’ season-opening game against Alabama four days later. He was limited to 10 touches in that game and made his injury worse. After weeks of rehabbing, Clement finally received an ultrasound and MRI last week that revealed he had two sports hernias. UW released a statement Thursday saying Clement would miss 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. Clement will almost certainly miss games against Iowa (Saturday), Nebraska (Oct. 10), Purdue (Oct. 17) and Illinois (Oct. 24). If he misses six weeks, he’ll also sit out against Rutgers (Oct. 31) and Maryland (Nov. 7). Clement said Thursday that if the Badgers don’t have a good chance to win the Big Ten West Division title by the time he’s healthy he would consider sitting out the entire season and taking a medical redshirt.

A good punter can win a game. The last time FSU beat Wisconsin...2008 Champs Sports Bowl. MVP? Punter Graham Gano. 3 punts killed inside the 3. A fourth punt (58 yards), returned 3 yards to the 7. He also performed a marvelous acting job on a roughing penalty. Only bowl game MVP given to a punter that I know of... I had to go look, and Ray Guy was never named MVP of any game. I found it hard to believe, but it's true.
From Wiki:"At the 1976 Pro Bowl, Guy became the first punter to hit the Louisiana Superdome video screen. Officials raised the screen from 90 feet to 200 feet. The NFC team pulled the ball and had it tested for helium; it was filled with regular air." I wonder where Tom Brady was?

Myth Busters did a trial of that idea of helium vs air. found the helium filled ball traveled a good bit less than air due to the reduction of "ballistic mass"

Which one travels farther, a pitched baseball or a pitched ping pong ball? If there is no mass, there can be no sustained inertia.

I watched some of the game. It was ugly. Stave didn't play his usual steady game. He looked like a true freshman on that sideline INT. You throw the ball to the sideline so no body can catch the ball except your receiver. It was way underthrown and an easy INT by the DB. Iowa didn't look any better, but they were starting a freshman. Wisky had the talent and experience to win the game, especially at home.

Ugly is being kind. Dick wad Anderson f ed up a strong running program in his two yrs. The D is really good and would have held Iowa scoreless absent the Wisky QB.

Wisconsin = Whatever they want to score Rutgers = Blown out Whatever the spread was, it wasn't enough. Ya, pretty much. If it wasn't for a ill pass Rootgers scores 3. Clement ave 10.5 on 11 carries. Hell they had trouble running for 50 V anyone else, as a team. Now if they can get 4 of the other 5 back on the O side and a cpl on the D back they might have a decent team by yrs end. At 10-2 off to Cali and the Holiday Bowl.
