Ya, pretty much. If it wasn't for a ill pass Rootgers scores 3. Clement ave 10.5 on 11 carries. Hell they had trouble running for 50 V anyone else, as a team. Now if they can get 4 of the other 5 back on the O side and a cpl on the D back they might have a decent team by yrs end. At 10-2 off to Cali and the Holiday Bowl. Might get a little competition there. Y'all were gettin pretty bored with the outback I bet. Tuff yr to go 10-2 in the B1G. They'll have 1 12-0 and two 11-1.

host.madison.com/wsj/sports/college/football/tom-oates-uw-football-program-in-much-better-shape-than/article_705fac5f-0687-5bc0-8afc-04561a014528.htmlIt’s hard to imagine a football team needing a break in the schedule more than the University of Wisconsin did this week. When you factor in the never-ending injuries, fluid starting lineups and closely contested games, the Badgers had an exhausting 10-week run to open the season. Viewed through that prism, their 8-2 record looks pretty good, especially when you consider the teams they lost to, Alabama and Iowa, were second and fifth, respectively, in last week’s College Football Playoff rankings. However, easy victories and style points have been few and far between for UW, and that has led to some nervousness about the future of the program under first-year coach Paul Chryst. While understandable given how UW has generally steamrolled lesser opponents in recent years, such concern is unfounded. If anything, people should be encouraged about the future because the program is headed in a better direction today than it was a year ago at this time. Former coach Gary Andersen fled Madison after only two seasons, causing some UW fans to scan the national scores every Sunday morning and revel in his latest loss at Oregon State. Fans have had their share of fun, too, because Andersen has seven losses in nine games with the Beavers. But there is no reason for UW fans to act like jilted lovers. Instead of laughing derisively as Andersen’s losses pile up, they should be thanking him profusely for realizing what has become apparent in the 11 months since he left: His hiring at UW was a colossal mistake. Please, don’t misunderstand that. UW athletic director Barry Alvarez hired a good coach in Andersen, he just hired the wrong coach. Andersen has solid credentials and is a great guy, but he was a bad fit for UW. It’s as simple as that. The program as we know it was heading downhill because Andersen was altering or neglecting many of the things that put UW on the college football map. He wasn’t as miscast as Don Morton was at UW, but his philosophies on offense, recruiting, practice, weight training and academics didn’t always fit UW’s hard-earned identity as a physical, homegrown, meat-and-potatoes program. Indeed, the Badgers were losing their way under Andersen, whose two-year run, while successful on the field, saw a gradual erosion of the values that made UW famous. He was deviating from the proven game plan imported by Alvarez 26 years ago and perpetuated by Bret Bielema. It’s conceivable Andersen could have forged a new way for UW to play and found long-term success here, but that didn’t seem likely. Or necessary. Some in the national media have accused Alvarez of micromanaging the program, but he knows firsthand what it takes to win at UW. His methods were successful over an extended period of time. And while Andersen brought with him some refreshing new ideas, most notably a more aggressive defensive approach, this simply isn’t a program that can make a living running an option-based offense and relying on speed over size, especially in the Big Ten Conference. Many of the holes and shortcomings that have surfaced during Chryst’s first season had their roots in Andersen’s two seasons in charge. UW’s lack of depth at its bread-and-butter positions — tailback and offensive line — is a reflection of Andersen’s recruiting priorities and decisions, many of which flew in the face of history. The only natural recruiting advantage UW has is acquiring big, physical linemen, but Andersen preferred mobility over size in his spread-option attack. Accordingly, he ignored the wall Alvarez and Bielema had built around Wisconsin and allowed in-state recruiting to lapse. He also reduced the all-important walk-on program from a torrent to a trickle. It is no secret Andersen let UW’s strength program decline as well. Perhaps because he preferred speed over bulk, the offensive line in particular saw its overall strength decline. Is it any wonder UW’s is struggling to run the ball this season? The Badgers also saw their fundamentals slip, which should be no surprise given Andersen’s snappy but short practices. Something had to go in practices that often lasted only an hour and a half. Was it fundamental work? Andersen’s refusal to accept the admissions policies at UW also affected this year’s team. His big-time tailback recruit, Jordan Stevenson, was denied admission into school and wound up at Nebraska, which contributed to UW’s current shortage at that position. (Note: Stevenson has since left the Cornhuskers program.) We weren’t privy to the discussions Alvarez had with Andersen that led to his hiring. Perhaps Andersen wanted the job so badly he told Alvarez what he wanted to hear about perpetuating the basic tenets of the program. Or maybe in his haste Alvarez relied on Andersen’s record and coaching pedigree instead of digging deep enough into his background. Whatever the reason, Andersen was a bad fit at UW. Hey, it happens. It happened with Morton at UW. It happened at Michigan with Rich Rodriguez. The most important thing is Andersen didn’t stay long enough to do permanent damage and now Chryst, who knows the program intimately, is returning it to its roots.

Looks like Iowa gets to be tOSU's sacrificial lamb in the BIGCG this season. But the boilermakers and the Cornhuskers still have some say in that. Purdue has been woefully unimpressive this season and aren't likely going to pull it off, but you never know. Nebraska, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of taking down Iowa.....but Wisconsin needs Iowa to lose to both.

What Ole Miss does against LSU and Missy State only matters if bama loses at AU which is highly unlikely.

Not accurate again. The SEC does care about division record when it is applicable.
