Good to see the Grateful Red added to the team board. Well with Graver coming on board I'll be posting to more than myself. While Wisky will be young next yr, as long as Bo is there the'll be very competitive recruiting guys that'll stay 3 & 4 yrs. He has a knack for recruiting athletic 6'9/10" + kids who are willing to play sound fundamental BB and can shoot. This latest kid has a stroke but needs to fill out and that'll take a cpl of yrs. This will be shown to be a real big win for Wisky in 3 yrs.

Wisconsin men's basketball ranks fifth in nation in attendance Badgers rank among top seven nationally for 15th-consecutive season
MADISON, Wis. - On their way to Big Ten championships and the Final Four, all eyes were on the Badgers in 2014-15 and that was confirmed by the attendance figures released by the NCAA on Monday. A capacity average of 17,279 packed the Kohl Center to help UW lead the Big Ten and finish fifth in the nation in home attendance, the program's highest finish since 2011-12.
The ranking continues what has now been a 15-year streak of top-seven finishes for UW in national attendance. This season, Wisconsin trailed only Syracuse, Kentucky, Louisville and North Carolina.
Wisconsin has ranked among the top two in the Big Ten for 13 consecutive seasons and has now led the conference 10 times since 2003. The Big Ten as a league led the nation in attendance for the 39th-consecutive year by averaging 12,781 fans per game this past season. A total of 10 Big Ten schools ranked in the top 30 in average attendance.
The Big Ten set conference records for total attendance (3,076,641) and attendance in conference games only (1,677,589) at its home arenas this season. It marks the first time in history that the Big Ten has eclipsed the three-million mark in total attendance.
In overall attendance, Wisconsin ranked second in the nation as 711,115 fans saw the Badgers play at home, on the road and in neutral sites. Kentucky was the only school to play in front of more people at 845,594. At the 2015 Final Four UW played in front 72,238 spectators in the semifinals and 71,149 fans in the championship game - those figures rank as the second and third largest crowds in school history, trailing only the 2014 Final Four (79,444).

UPDATE:Andy van Vliet, a 6'10 forward from Belgium, officially signed his Letter of Intent with Wisconsin, the Badgers announced on Monday. His admission to UW wasn't necessarily ever in doubt, but the logistics of the application process for international students dragged out the formalities of van Vliet's signing. For more on one of the prospects who could be Wisconsin's next great, offensively skilled big men, check out B5Q's initial story on van Vliet's commitment and his scouting report. From UW's press release, which you can read here: "Wisconsin men’s basketball coach Bo Ryan announced on Monday that Andy Van Vliet has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wisconsin and play basketball for the Badgers. He will join the roster beginning in the fall of 2015. "We are excited to have Andy join an outstanding class of incoming freshmen," Ryan said. "Andy possesses many of the characteristics that have been successful with the other big men that have played in our program. He is a skilled, versatile player who has terrific work ethic. He made his intentions known early on that Wisconsin is where he wanted to be and we are excited he is joining our basketball family." Van Vliet joins Wisconsin’s Class of 2015 that already includes Alex Illikainen (Grand Rapids, Minn.), Khalil Iverson (Delaware, Ohio), Brevin Pritzl (De Pere, Wis.) and Charlie Thomas (Clarksville, Md.)."

Pretty stout early schedule for a team on the rebuild in Ryan's last yr.The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team will face Georgetown in a semifinal of the 2K Classic on Nov. 20 at Madison Square Garden in New York, part of what figures to be a challenging early-season stretch for the Badgers. Two days after playing the Hoyas, UW will either get a rematch with defending national champion Duke — the Blue Devils rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to defeat the Badgers 68-63 in the title game — or meet VCU in the championship or consolation game. Georgetown went 22-11 last season, including a 68-65 loss to UW in a semifinal of the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas. The Hoyas’ season ended with a loss to Utah in a round of 32 game in the NCAA tournament. UW, which must replace five key players from a team that won a program-record 36 games last season, plays at Oklahoma on Nov. 29 and at Syracuse on Dec. 2. The game against the Orange is part of the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. The Badgers’ complete non-conference schedule is expected to be released soon. A team spokesman said UW is waiting for all contracts to be finalized before releasing the full 13-game schedule..... Holy crud, Wisky wins 4 in a row after beating Ilnose @ Il. Now at 13-9. Ha I would have thought they 'd be lucky to be .500 at this, given their start and not NIT worthy. Next up TOSU in Madison.

5 in a row baby. But some tough sledding ahead. Maybe 19-13 in the end. Maybe.

nice. lol. i'd heard his comments on radio but didn't see the video til your post. the only thing i'd argue about is that he gives the impression that osu didn't want/recruit him. they did... hard. matta wanted and needed hayes, but he liked the feel of madison better, and when it came down to uw/osu (and those were his final 2 choices i believe) he went red over scarlet. and also the reporter saying uw had 3 guys on the floor when osu had none from ohio, that's also a little misleading, since loving (toledo) and tate (pickerington) played most of the game, and harris (dayton) started and played 10-15 min.

5 in a row baby. But some tough sledding ahead. Maybe 19-13 in the end. Maybe. if they can keep shooting 13-27 from 3 (6-9 in the 2nd half) and still have hayes and happ played like they did down low last nite, uw is going to cause problems for plenty of teams.

I'll forever remember Hayes and the rest of last yrs group holding court after the tourney games in face of media Qs. They had fun, were relaxed in front of a camera and it showed. An eclectic mix if you incl Bo.

WOW. Beat Iowa in Iowa. 9 of the last 10. Three top ten wins. Hard to believe, after the start they had to the season. Maybe, just maybe, they'll continue a top 4 B1G streak and maybe they'll make the big dance. Maybe.
