Indians entered tonight's game in kc on a roll. But they were just 10-17 vs al central teams. Make it 11-17. Gritty 2-1 win. Brantley came thru w a 2 out single to score kipnis for the deciding run in the 8th. First run given up by royals reliever wade Davis all year. Carrasco pitched well for 7 innings in a good pitching duel w/Guthrie. You need to beat the teams ahead of you to get back in it. From 9 back to 5.5 back in a week and a half. That's the right direction.

There are quite a few pictures online today asking how the replay officals could have blown the double play call upon further review. Such is the game of baseball though. The Royals bats have gone quiet for the last week or so as they hit their first real slump of 2015.

But at least MLB owned up, admitten they blew the replay and apologized.

The main thing about the blown call that irritates me is it cost Wade a run scored. As noted, he had over twenty appearances this year with no runs scored, earner or not, and that call cost him the streak. He is about six months older than my youngest son and grew up and played in the next town over from us. Probably saw him in high school and didn't realize it just as well as most likely was at the same Pat Borders Christmas baseball camp my kids went to in his home town when they were in Babe Ruth League.

Started the season great had a pectoral muscle strain that DL'd him for a while. When he, Davis & Herrera are rolling they really shorteneed the games. And n I will with Madson and Hochevar back its almost unfair. Hoping for Chris Young to close out the series tomorrow.

He could walk away with the Mariano Rivera Award again this year.

He could walk away with the Mariano Rivera Award again this year.He was off to probably his best start ever this year before the pectoral injury. Typically he struggles with his control early in the season but he was lights out right out of the box this year. The KC bullpen is remarkable the last year or two. And I think Davis is actually a better closer than Hollie. Dayton Moore focused on building the around power arms and it's worked out pretty well for him so far. Baseball has changed so much in the last ten to fifteen years. When my boys were playing high school ball, we would be at tournaments and if a rumor floated that one team had a pitcher throwing 90 mph you would find fifteen to twenty scouts sitting behind the plate. And each one would have a radar gun with him. Now it seems like a guy throws 90 and they talk about him not having the power arm. Watching KC I've seen both Ventura and Herrera throw change ups at 90 mph with movement. I'd hate to be a hitter these days.

The explanation they gave for blowing the replay was their reverse angle view wasn't working. It happens. As i said, my main complaint is it cost Wade his streak. Next batter grounded to Infante ag as in at second and he did bobble but recovered to get the lead runner. So you have to think he'did have gotten the hitter if he didn't go to second and that would have been three outs.
My biggest concern going forward is getting Yost to rest Perez. He caught 161 games last year and started all but four thus year. It doesn't seem to affect him behind the plate but his bat falls off dramatically when his legs as regards tired.

was checking in on the tribe before the cavs game and during commercial breaks. indians knocked off kc 6-2 in a rain-shortened 7 innings. that's 4 straight road series cleveland has won, and its the first home series the royals have dropped this year. as lou brown would say, 'we're startin to come together, pepper. i think we're a contender right now.'

Tribe is playing well and KC is in a funk right now. Not scoring many runs. Hopefully they kick that off pretty quickly and get back to pounding the ball like they were earlier in the year.
