I gotta hand it to Stanford. They somehow have become the default campus for every smart kid with talent. Only 4 commits from California so far. That speaks to a national prestige like no other school. Or speaks to not a lot of smart kids who can play FB in Cali.

you guys started the year pretty slow, and finished very strong.......just the opposite of what OSU did. If USC doesn't f-word around in September, likely they'll be in the final 4. Looks to me like the NCAA needs to pay another visit to USC.
Bite your tongue! If the NCAA gets within a mile of campus, the Trojan faithful will burn down NCAA headquarters...and I'll be passing out the gasoline cans..

I don't follow recruiting much but is Georgia's ranking expected or did they get a lot of late commits? Either way, nice class. Georgia has been in that #3 spot for several weeks based on oommitments. They just gave a scholarship to a kicker/punter from Wofford as a graduate transfer. Looks like the OLine and Dline will be greatly improved, 2 good WRs and some DBs; all needed badly. Got a top RB and a 4* QB as well. Look out Florida. Your run may be over for a while.I hope so. The mediocrity run we've been on has been annoying. But even when we suck we can still beat UGA. And why does the St. John's River run North? Because Georgia sucks beyond all realms of suckage.

Nation's #6 OG makes commitment #8 in Florida's 2018 recruiting class. Curtis Dunlap will be Florida's first football recruit from IMG Academy when he signs: www.seccountry.com/florida/curtis-dunlap-commits-florida-gatorsGAINESVILLE, , Fla. — Curtis Dunlap has ended Florida’s recruiting drought at IMG Academy. The 4-star offensive guard committed Tuesday to the Gators, bringing them up to eight pledges in their 2018 class. If Dunlap sticks with his decision, he will be the first recruit from IMG Academy to sign with Florida. He’s also the first commitment for new offensive line coach Brad Davis, who served as the primary recruiter for Dunlap. “Watching Gator football when I was younger was an exciting thing,” Dunlap told SEC Country earlier this year. “A lot of people in my family are big Florida fans. It’s just a great school with great history.” Dunlap competed earlier this month at The Opening and was one of the top performers at his position. The 6-foot-4, 368-pound Dunlap is the No. 6 offensive guard and No. 206 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He chose the Gators over Arkansas, Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma. Dunlap is originally from Jacksonville, Fla., and transferred for high school to IMG Academy, a private boarding school and training facility in Bradenton, Fla. IMG Academy fielded its first football team in 2013 and takes in transfers annually from some of the nation’s top high school football players, but none have made their way to UF despite a few pledges in the past.

2018 Recruiting in the SEC
DawgNation Invasion: Georgia and Florida are going head-to-head for SEC’s top class
Jeff Sentell Jeff Sentell @jeffsentell Posted 4 hours ago Editor’s note: The next DawgNation Invasion will be for the Florida game in Jacksonville this weekend. The big recruiting battle of late between the two rivals has been the back-and-forth for the bragging rights of having the SEC’s top-rated recruiting class for 2018.
In preparation for that big-game weekend, DawgNation takes a look at the recruiting trends with each program.
Adam Anderson-UGA recruiting New 4-star UGA commitment Adam Anderson was already wearing the gear in his home when he made his decision on Thursday night. (Jeff Sentell/Dawgnation) October has been good to the Bulldogs.
It could get even better.
Georgia’s recruiting class has surged from Top 10 to elite. The Bulldogs landed commitments from two of the nation’s Top 50 players in 5-star QB Justin Fields and 4-star OLB Adam Anderson.
Fields, the 247Sports Composite’s top overall prospect, pushed the Bulldogs into the Top 10.
Anderson’s decision meant another rankings benchmark. When he chose Georgia, it vaulted the red-and-black to a temporary status as the nation’s No. 6 class.
The Bulldogs would also earn the distinction of having the highest-rated class in the SEC.
It was short-lived.
Georgia held that spot for less than a day. Florida grabbed that honor after it picked up its 18th commitment last Friday.
The addition of Tampa 4-star OT Richard Gouraige now meant the SEC’s top-rated class was going to Gainesville. The Gators vaulted Georgia to No. 1 in the SEC and No. 6 nationally in the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
Gouraige’s choice meant the first commitment for Florida since it picked up 4-star Georgia RB Dameon Pierce back on Aug. 6. That move by Gouraige updated the 2018 commitment comparison for both schools:
2018 star breakdown 5-stars 4-stars 3-stars Total Florida 0 10 8 18 UGA 2 8 7 17 Elite commit rankings Top 50 overall Top 150 overall Top 5 (position) Top 10 (position) Florida 2 5 2 6 UGA 3 6 5 6 Yet there is now a chance for a Lee Corso “not so fast” moment with this match race.
Miami Central (Fla.) 4-star RB James Cook will make his college decision at 8 p.m. this evening with the release of a commitment video.
The Bulldogs have positioned themselves well for the talented speedster from South Florida. Ironically, the Bulldogs prioritized Cook on their board as an out-of-state prospect rather than pursue the aforementioned Pierce.
That allowed the Gators to land Pierce.
If Cook chooses the Bulldogs, we will see another flip-flop in this tug-of-war between rivals for the honor of recruiting the SEC’s best class.
According to the 247Sports class calculator, Georgia would rise in that scenario to No. 1 in the SEC and No. 5 overall nationally. The Bulldogs would then leap both Florida and Oregon.
Cook ranks as the nation’s No. 3 RB for this year’s cycle. He’s also the nation’s No. 35 overall prospect. If he also joins the fold, then he would be the third Top 50 prospect to commit to Georgia this month.
That would be quite the October.

Georgia just picked up another 5* RB. Looking good for 2018.
Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart has now landed a pair of five-star recruits at running back in Cook and Zamir White of Laurinburg, N.C. Georgia will also have highly touted quarterback Justin Fields, a dual-threat player from Kennesaw, Ga., arriving in Athens next summer.
Cook, a 5-11, 181-pound senior at Miami Central High School, has run for 699 yards and eight touchdowns so far this year. He combined for 1,337 and 20 touchdowns over the previous two seasons with seven catches for 112 yards and a score.
He had originally committed to Florida State, where Dalvin Cook starred for three seasons and was the school's all-time leading rusher before the Vikings selected him in the second round of this year's draft. The younger Cook decommitted from Florida State in July and took official visits to Georgia and Louisville.

The links on page 1 with the exception of ESPN have been updated for 2019. ESPN is always slow to put up a link to the next years recruiting class. I'll change the link when ESPN makes it available for 2019. There is 9 months to the early signing period in December and 11+ months to NSD in February so there isn't anything to be excited about at this time. I always worry about recruits that commit this early in the process sticking with their commitments.
If you want to see 2018 or previous years once you get to the site, simply click on the year and go to the year you want to look at.
Scout is no longer listed. Instead, 247 Sports has a "Composite Ranking" which is an average of recruiting rankings for recruits and teams, not sure who is being used in the average. 247 Sports also maintains their own ranking. We continue to have 4 separate rankings for our use. The following explains that there is an equal average of major media outlets that rank players and teams to arrive at the "Composite Ranking". Unfortunately, a list of the major media outlets averaged isn't provided:
"About 247Sports Composite:
The 247Sports Composite is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings and ratings listed in the public domain by the major media recruiting services, creating the industry's most comprehensive and unbiased prospect and team rankings".
In the future, the manual composite when I do one will be the average of the 4 rankings found on page 1, 3 propriety plus 1 average of all major media outlets.

ESPN is now reporting 2019, but only the team ranking out to #15 and the number of players. You have to be an insider to get more than that from ESPN.
All of the links are on page 1.
