That was cool, and pretty much confirms what I was saying. It's not the risk of explosion or projectiles that makes a large quantity of ammunition dangerous, only the powder from damaged cases that can fuel a fire already burning, or ignites around the spilled powder.
400,000 rounds would last ME the rest of my life.
As interesting as that was, and I thank Fred for the info, if I am a firefighter called to put out a raging garage fire, I think I am happier that Table 307.1 (1) exists than that it doesnt. The restriction remains a prudent code provision, IMO.
So you agree that Trump's travel ban IS a good idea, right?

Better to be safe than sorry. As long as it is constitutional, he is within his mandated right to restrict travel. Unfortunately, he couldnt prove to the court that it was. Perhaps his new attempt at writing a ban will be more sucessful.
I have already explained why this is the most prudent action the President could take. Are we financially equipped to properly care for EVERY LEGAL U.S. CITIZEN, which means giving them proper housing, clothing, food, and free or low-cost medical care? Answer that honestly. Are all AMERICANS cared for? You know they are NOT.
This is much more than "Muslimphobia" like you liberals want to claim. We simply cannot support everyone who wants to come here. It is IMPOSSIBLE.
Why is this so hard to understand?

Something I've wondered about is ammo stored in the typical military-type ammo cans of various sizes...... Modern ammo 'gunpowder' is designed to create a very rapid expansion of pressure. Cans have that really thick rubber gasket that makes them completely waterproof with a super tight seal................ If ammo started cooking off rapidly inside a closed can could that end up with an explosive result ? I don't know but it would be a really cool experiment out yonder a spell...........  |

IMHO --- ONLY --- it would be relatively safe. That's my thought too. All the rounds would have to cook off simultaneously to create enough pressure to cause a good-sized explosion and that's highly unlikely to occur. Rounds cooking off behave just like popcorn and once the pressure becomes adequate to distort the integrity of the can all of the subsequent pressure wouldn't do a whole lot IMO. |

It's easy. The United States has the right to close its borders to EVERYONE. No one in the world has the right to enter this country unless he has express permission of the United States Government. We don't have to prove a damn thing to anybody. It is OUR country.

A 5-1/2"x11"x7" 50 cal ammo can will hold 3,000 rounds of .22LR still in their hard plastic boxes. Fred lost 2 fulls cans today on Lake Sonoma. That was quick. He just got the stuff yesterday...  |
