You're all about the 'better looking' , aren't you... LOL.. I reckon that's where we'll have to differ. When it comes to firearms, I'll take functional over looks all day. No big deal, different strokes fer different folks... :::shrug::: Well, I DID say that the Mini-14's action is more reliable than the M-16's since it is based on a better design ............... but I guess you missed that part. The Mini-14 does not blow gas and unburned powder particles directly back into the chamber like the M-16 does. Guess which rifle will run longer before it has to be cleaned. Those high temp gases blowing directly on the operating mechanism will cause premature parts failure, but that's not important either, is it?
If you like your jam-o-matic better, that's fine by me. It's a free country, and the spare parts manufacturers and gunsmiths LOVE you.
Makes one wonder why the U.S. military doesn't use the mini-14 instead of the M-16, doesn't it....

Makes one wonder why the U.S. military doesn't use the mini-14 instead of the M-16, doesn't it.... Nope. No wonder at all. Bill Ruger didn't have his design ready in time for it to be evaluated by the military. If he HAD, the chances are very good that the Mini-14 would now be known as the M-16. Sometimes timing is everything. If you had done just a LITTLE research, you would have known this.
Now the M-16's from Armalite/Colt are like roaches. They have infested the entire U.S. military and getting rid of them would be extremely difficult.

I'm GLAD you two look down your noses at the Mini-14. Its lack of respect keeps imitators from making cheap copies like the AR world is infested with. When you buy a Mini-14, you are guaranteed only the best, high quality rifle from a reputable AMERICAN manufacturer. Also, Rambo wannabes aren't snatching them up, driving up their prices. In addition, Mini-14's actually come from the factory with SIGHTS on them and without those silly picaninny rails. Who wants to grab a gun whose forearm feels like a LEGOTM block?

Weak. When you actually know what you're talking about we can talk. Until then, you're just another egotistical willie clone. <Sorry in advance... that was a real low blow. >

Trying to defend an AR over a Mini-14 is VERY weak. I haven't said a single thing that is NOT true. But you have your opinion, and you can buy whatever you want to.
