Tell me ...... what law that doesn't infringe on millions of people's rights would have stopped this from happening? Gun ownership SAVES LIVES. It is CRIMINALS who take lives.
The laws need to change NOW. Armed security MUST BE MANDATED into every public school in the United States.
The cops got there late, as usual, and the suspect walked right past them in a group of evacuating students. Armed personnel on scene when the shooting started could have made a big difference.
So again ........ what is YOUR law to stop these things? He wants to know our number because, well, he's so much more righteous than us cold-hearted bastards who don't care how many innocent kids/adults have to be gunned down in cold blood with these kind of weapons before we see that current gun laws are part of the problem. If we’re posting pics of the kind of guns used in many of these mass murders, bragging about it, or supporting people who post it, then we haven’t reached our number yet before we care enough to change our tune. Is that about right, Mark? You pompous ass hole. what's your number?

just curious what your number is. how many innocent people/children before you decide that laws need to change. because every time innocent people get gunned down in the u.s., be it in schools or theatres or concerts, you’re the first to go on the offensive, bragging that your gun ownership is more important than their lives. so, what is your number? Tell me ...... what law that doesn't infringe on millions of people's rights would have stopped this from happening? Gun ownership SAVES LIVES. It is CRIMINALS who take lives.

So again ........ what is YOUR law to stop these things?what is your number, bryan? and thanks... you actually suggested a change instead of responding with just an insult because my stance differs from yours. but is armed security the answer? fight guns with more guns? or would it make more sense to change the gun laws... why does the public need access to weapons like an ar-14 or ar-15 which have been the mass murder vehicle of choice in recent years? yes, criminals take lives, but they can take more lives much more easily with these kind of weapons, no? as a society, are we actually going to start going backwards toward the wild west, or a police state where the visibility of heavily armed personnel is everywhere? does that enhance freedom? I don't think it does. america should not be the world leader in killing innocents. changing gun laws alone will not solve it, but easy access to automatic/semi-automatic weapons is a huge part of the problem and it has to be addressed while still honoring the constitution. and my number is 1.

nice dodge. what’s your number? how many innocent kids/adults have to be gunned down in cold blood with these kind of weapons before you see that current gun laws are part of the problem? if you’re posting pics of the kind of guns used in many of these mass murders, bragging about it, or supporting people who post it, then we haven’t reached your number yet before you care enough to change your tune. so, what’s your number? I certainly don't have a number, and forgetting the rhetoric on both sides for the moment...what law would have prevented this event from happening? In advance, I don't claim to have "the" answer, because truth be told a "the" answer doesn't exist.

Let me ask this If it can be proven that banning AR-15s would save 2-3 lives every time someone decides they want to go on a shooting spree, would you be for it?

Vermont is not a good example. The state essentially has no gun laws, and likely never will due to their Constitution. FWIW, their murder rate is very low.

The number of "assault weapons" in the U.S. is estimated at 5 to 8 MILLION. How many of those weapons have been used illegally by their lawful owners?
Yes, I have the right to defend myself, my family and other people with a firearm, and no one has the right to tell me what firearm I can use. You CAN use AR's for hunting. You CAN use AR's for target shooting. You CAN use AR's for self defense.
I have given my solution many times:1) SHOW a gun as a threat during a crime (no injuries), and receive a MANDATORY 25 years in prison, for that offense alone. 2) FIRE the gun (no injuries), and get 50 years. 3) INJURE someone with a gun and get 75 years. 4) KILL someone with a gun and get DEATH.
America is FAR from being the world leader in killings. You better look at the number of citizens in other countries who are murdered by their own governments before you start casting out nonsense. People without guns are NEVER safe from their own "protectors."
