On the whole, he was probably more middle of the road than liberal or conservative. But, in the last 15 years or so he was on the court, he went liberal more often than not. The Republican thing (even if true) means very little AFAIC. A true conservative would never advocate repeal of the Second Amendment. In advance, please keep in mind that we (you and I) have a vastly different definition of the word conservative. Think Barry Goldwater vs. so many of the self-described Conservatives of today. Not to pick nits, but Stevens was appointed by Gerald Ford, not Richard Nixon.
I just went by the biography page I found on the internet. So go tell it its wrong Yeah yeah. I know everyone's definition of conservative and liberal on this board. So spare me. |

I just went by the biography page I found on the internet. So go tell it its wrong ?? About what? Yeah yeah. I know everyone's definition of conservative and liberal on this board. So spare me. That's just it, you don't know. Very good example of what's wrong with society today...people assume they know things that simply aren't so. People talk at each other instead of to each other.
