"...The dilemma — which he (Trump) does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations. I would know. I am one of them. To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous. But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic."and... "This isn’t the work of the so-called deep state. It’s the work of the steady state.
Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president. But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until — one way or another — it’s over."www.nytimes.com/2018/09/05/opinion/trump-white-house-anonymous-resistance.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

Yo, Walter, I didn't see this thread today, prior to posting the article on the main "politics" board.
My bad.

But it dovetails with anecdotal evidence. What I do not understand and it is a source of much consternation for me, is that no former members of the inner staff have said a word of either agreement or disagreement. That strikes me as VERY odd. From Spicer to Prievus to Tillerson to Cohn to McMaster...nothing. Why?

Walt, any credence in some unverified tale in an NYT op ed is the same as:
Oh please Lucky Star, I beg of you!! OHHHH MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.................
But I'm sure you'll delete my post because it's hogwash while yours has a link and is 99% true in your mind.

What I do not understand and it is a source of much consternation for me, is that no former members of the inner staff have said a word of either agreement or disagreement. That strikes me as VERY odd. It's a planetary crisis. The President is unfit for office, and a grave danger to the entire human race. It appears that those who are empowered by the Constitution to urgently remove the POTUS from office are unwilling to do so, for unclear reasons.

It's not Fox, Breitbart, or the National Enquirer. They would not have published a letter like this on the front page without vetting it.

So is the possibility of a made up yarn by OGL or some obama holdover trumping up an imaginary tale and going to OGL, don't you think? You're so quick to accept no matter how many times you've been disappointed doing such. OHHHHHH MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..................... So just where is the coup coming from again?

Might be accurate and authentic, might not. Vet it? Honestly, understanding most newspapers are about as secure as an unlocked and unguarded bank, do you think, given Trump's available resources, that you would, as a SENIOR Trump official, bet you job and you believe your own past posts, your life, on maintaining your anonymity? A low level staffer making shit up is as likely.
And the NYT has been trashed by you, in the past, when they published stuff that didn't fit your pov. So there is that.

Or, in a change by Trump, if it's BS it's just ignored.

I'm re-posting this for Cheese Burgher. He's still, characteristically, clueless on the subject.
