Could be one of Willie's famous CIA Operations OR wait for it, COULD be, and given today's activities, a BIG COULD BE, a Russian created and planted story. According to many, they changed the election outcome. This would be child's play, no?

Heck, there are now 3 books out describing "The Disgruntled", so it's hardly a secret.

If one assumes the writer is authentic, I ran across this looking for info on their policies re anonymous op-eds. Kind of interesting. On one side of the NYT fence you'd have writers trying to find out who the writer is and on the op-ed side you'd have folks trying to protect that writer's identity. www.politico.com/story/2018/09/05/trump-anonymous-new-york-times-oped-809111 I don't follow Politico, it just popped up w the Gooogle search. It just struck me as kind of a spy V spy V spy scenario.

There are a lot of fraud-ridden possibilities. That some random intern penned it just isn't one of them, IMO, unless you are claiming massive, historically significant journalistic malpractice by the paper.

Fundamentally, an institution like the NYTimes lives and dies by its reputation to report real news.
Have they made mistakes? Absolutely.
Have they bent the gist of stories? Yes.

Would they fabricate an OP-ED, and/or flat out lie about its origin to make a cheap political point?
As doubtful as I might be about their motives and veracity, I ain't goin' there. No way.

And BTW...
Deep Throat was not nothing. It/he existed. So what does it have to do with you "doubting"? Shouldn't it be an example of exactly the opposite?

After reading this so-called editorial, I find that it reads like a compilation of every Left Wing rant since the 2016 election. There were crazy articles from the Left that President Trump was insane, senile, unstable, etc., and that the 25th Amendment should be invoked to remove him from office. That's one of the first rants in this editorial.
There were reports last spring that President Trump would decide something in a cabinet meeting, then change his mind a few days later. That's in this article as well.
Next, the stale claim that President Trump wants to end sanctions on Russia, yet those sanctions are still in place.
If one complied a synopsis of every front-page story about President Trump in the New York Times since the election, it would read just like this editorial. Maybe their reporters should look around the newsroom (or the editorial board) to identify the author.
