I know you didn't read it Wally cuz you have your eyes closed. There are several media sources reporting on it, unfortunately it is not illegal because of your governor MoonBeam, other states are making sure it doesn't happen to them.

The big change in the law was allowing any person to bring the mail-in ballot to be counted, instead of it having to be someone living at the address or a relative. Now, you've got campaign workers knocking on doors seeking mail-in ballots and taking as many as they can collect to the polls. It's legal in California, but it's a big switch imo. Have to say on the surface, don't really care for it, either. That said, Republicans got beat on the ground by the Democrats, the Dems took full advantage of the change in the law while the Republicans got caught with their pants down.

You are absolutely right Harry, but Wally will tell you those democrat campaign workers who were out knocking on those doors, harvesting those ballots, which could have easily been mailed in, never, ever once suggested to the harvestee who to vote for!!!!  And of course there were no ballots that were picked that hadn't been filled out yet that were somehow filled out by the campaign workers themselves. We both know that could never happen!!!

Simply because a dozen right-wing echo chamber outlets scream to the heavens about this "outrage" doesn't make it a bonafide issue.

“To say we were caught flat-footed by this is just not true,” California GOP spokesman Matt Fleming told Fox News. “We were well aware of this, we even did it ourselves, we pay attention to election laws.”

So, as the story points out, the Dems used the law better than the Republicans and were able to get more votes counted.

Dale Neugebauer, a veteran Republican consultant, told the Chronicle that Democrats used the practice in a “thorough and disciplined” ground game.
“Absolutely, ballot harvesting played a very significant role,” Neugebauer told the Chronicle, adding that “I have a little bit of professional admiration for how well the Democrats executed their plan.”

In other words, the Dems and Repubs both did it; the Dems just did it better, and since it isn't illegal, what's your freakin' problem?

If I'm a political org seeking to win, and (I assume) they have a list of registered Dems who requested a mail-in ballot, what is the issue with knocking on a door to find out if the ballot was sent and offering aid in delivery if it wasn't?
I guess I'm not seeing the issue Repubs are having with this.
Their folks have the same lists and they can do the same thing. Their problem is simply that there are fewer Republican doors and that isn't a problem with the law; that is a problem with Republicanism.

Those are my issues as well...seems to be lots of room for abuse.
