last month or so has been tough if you're a jackets fan. 2 best players are likely gone after the season to try free agency, and the team has gone into a huge slump til the last week or so. nice 6-2 over montreal last night has the cbj back in the 8 spot for the playoffs, and just one point behind #7 carolina, w/5 games left in the regular season. getting out of the 8-slot, and avoiding tampa in round 1, would be the goal. daughter and son-in-law were at nationwide last night and said the atmosphere was electric. cool...

The Jackets stand to lose Duchene (very likely) and Dzingel (a lot less likely), too. If they don't win their first series, Kekalainen will have a lot to answer for this summer. Matching up against Torts would be pretty neat but the Jackets want no part of the Lightning this year unless they can catch the Bolts looking ahead to Boston in the second round. Very cool but similar to the Buckeyes, the fanbase is incredibly fickle. Lose and they are the worst team ever, win and they are ready to challenge for a Cup. It's pretty interesting to watch from afar.

No doubt that plays a part, I was just noting the extreme highs and lows of a lot of the fans. Interesting to note that CBJ's streak of playoff futility is the second longest streak to Florida's run of 23 years (and counting) since their last series win. Obviously different in that they have won one previously but worth noting that things can always be worse.

It would take a monumental collapse in the last two games against two pretty bad teams plus a win by Les Habitant to keep the Jackets out. Don't see it happening but the bad news is having to deal with the Bolts in round one. Two wins and a loss by Carolina would move them to 7th and a matchup with the Caps so there is some intrigue in the final two days of the season.
Speaking of the Bolts, they have a chance to tie the all-time record for wins with a win against Boston tomorrow. Sitting through historically bad hockey with about 4000 of my closest friends seems so long ago with what this team has accomplished this year. Amazing.

Amazing. tampa just seems unstoppable on offense this year. I'm sure it's been a great year to be a fan. yes, 2 subpar teams w/nothing to play for but also nothing to lose. plus back to back nights for the cbj. the pressure is on tonite to get the 1 win needed to get in, and not have it all come down to the final game. let that be for trying to get into that 7 slot.

I'll root for them. Kind of feel your elation and pain. On Jan 3, St L Blues had the worst record in the NHL. They fired their coach in Nov and in Jan pulled a goaltender up called Jordan Binnington and started him V Philly. He shut them out and the team has supported him for a 21-5-1 record with an impressive 1.78 goals-against average and .932 save percentage. And they're in the playoffs and have a punchers chance, w some help, to win the central. Since Jan. 3 , St. Louis has gone 26-9-4 and become the seventh team since expansion in 1967 to make the postseason after being in last place after New Year's Day.

It's pretty unbelievable.

They are in but not without a little drama. Not sure why Bob lifted his leg on game tying goal late, as he seemed to be in position had he just stayed square. Weird but they recover and Panarin ends it in OT. Big one tonight to possibly jump to 7. If not... Torts against his former team? Whoa, Nellie!

Whoa, Nellie! well, I was in nashville thru wednesday this week for work. couldn't take a direct flight back so I'm at reagan/dc watching the 1st period of tampa/cbj, and of course it was disastrous. down 3-0 and it could have been worse. boarded the flight and (thanks southwest!) there was free tv streaming... usa network was one of the channels, and I got to see all of the 2nd/3rd period w/the game ending right as we taxied to the gate. easily the biggest come-from-behind win in club history to date. bob turned it around, the team turned up the forechecking and took advantage of their opportunities. very curious to see how tampa comes out tonite

They should know better. Credit Bob on keeping the Jackets in it, too. You could only fault him on one of the goals but early in the second he made three big stops on chances that could have put the game away. I didn’t see who the 3 stars were but he absolutely deserved one of them. I am still confident the Lightning will win the series but it won’t happen if they only choose to play 20 minutes again. Go Bolts!

My confidence isn't quite so high anymore. Kudos to the Jackets (and Torts) on three well deserved wins but to say the results so far have been surprising would be the understatement of the year. Go Bolts!

The babe with the nice chest said ( ) .........."getting out of the 8-slot, and avoiding tampa in round 1, would be the goal." marc says.......damn.....3-0 in the series, play another here in C-bus, run this bastard!!!! tampa is playing like they're trying not to lose, but they've lost their composure......house of cards and all that.

Go Bolts! calling surprising an understatement of the year is the understatement of the year. lol. no one saw this coming but the town is buzzing. would try to get to the arena district tonite if I wasn't already headed to the airport. hoping to catch at least parts of the game on the flight. cbj have really forced tampa out of their game, and the chippi-ness of the bolts throughout game 3 showed that front and center. you'd have to expect tampa to win game 4, but I expected them to be up at least 2-1 heading into face-off... so who knows. jackets have not had one weak link in any of their lines and bob has simply been outstanding.
