Does this mean my old Sprint/Nokia flipfone will now work on my TMbl acct? No. Network integration will take some time but either way, your Nokia is a CDMA device so it wouldn't work on our GSM network.

No. Network integration will take some time but either way, your Nokia is a CDMA device so it wouldn't work on our GSM network. Don't worry. New compatible phones will only cost $1500. Since when does a monopoly LOWER prices? Yeah, the service might be cheaper, but the hardware WON'T be.

If that were the only GSM device we offered, the argument would be valid. However... By the way, any idea what kind of margin there is on a cell phone? Blaming the service providers for price is very misguided.

Hopefully Straight Talk will still exist. $35 a month plus taxes. Under $40 total.

They are Tracfone's prepaid provider and have a pretty strong brand in the market. You should be good.

By the way, any idea what kind of margin there is on a cell phone? Blaming the service providers for price is very misguided. Don't get me wrong. I don't blame the providers. I dropped 8 bills on my current phone, which is now about 3 years old. I cannot imagine I will buy another one unless this 5G thing is significantly better for me. And since I barely use it for anything else but the basics, I'm thinking probably not, at least for a while. If you could give me an idea of why I'd want 5G, I'd definitely think about it. FTR, I think current comm systems are just stunningly good. I don't even have a landline either home or at my office anymore.

I have Tracfone. Our phones are free with one year of service for around $125/year. Gotta get the HSN deals. Can't be beat. We have pretty high up the line LG's and Samsungs.
