It is with a heavy heart that I pass along the news of our brother's passing.
He was a man who was greatly admired and loved by a great many people, including myself.
Goodbye my friend. Rest well.

There is no easy way to say this.......Today, Easter, we lost one of the good guys. One of the best guys. Marc Morin passed from this world at about 2:00am this morning. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, with his best friend and wife Barbara at his side. He once told me that the best day of his life was the day they met. There are no details or arrangements yet. Jose and I will update this thread once we know more, although we think Barb will wait until the social restrictions are lifted before there is any formal celebration of Marc's life.
When that happens, I think the AK family, so many of us that benefitted from Marc's intelligence and unselfishness, should do something for the family.

Marc was one of the most interesting people I have ever "met".
If feels really strange to feel such sorrow for someone I have never laid eyes on, yet I feel as if a great friend of mine has passed.
RIP, Marc.

This news absolutely breaks my heart. I've "known" Mark for over 20 years. Back from the old AOL message boards.
It was Marc who would always sell me his Ohio St tickets to games he didn't feel like going to. I was just excited to go to the Horseshoe to see Ohio St play so I didn't care who they were playing. Marc also sent me special editions of the Columbus Dispatch whenever they had a special edition on Ohio St
Even though most of the games I got to see were blowouts. There was the occasional excitement.
Thanks to Marc I got to see this
It was after that game I declared Justin Zwick to be a bust and said Troy Smith should take over at QB for the Buckeyes on the AOL message board and was roundly criticized for my opinion
Marc also helped my dad when he got bogus gun charges against him. He was even willing to testify on my dad's behalf.
He was a good good man. I've been thinking about him a lot lately. I even sent him a card and letter the other day that sadly didn't reach him in time.

Marc approached his death with courage. Marc fought the "good fight" and there is little doubt that many people respected him. That says much about the kind of man Marc was. Forever in our hearts.

Damn sad to hear this, even though we all knew it was only a matter of time.
Dude had integrity, even in disagreement. Paid his debts. We both did, as we contributed to each other's charities over the years.
Glad his suffering is over, but will miss his posts.
