Just as an aside, can you give me short synopsis on how you go about choosing the games on a particular week? LOL...that sounds suspiciously like a website popup like, "Google wants to know your location. Do you agree?" For the most part, I just look for interesting games with good teams. So ranked vs ranked and some rivalry games, (unless one of the rivalry teams really sucks) usually get in. Also, I look to see if a game has an impact on a conference race. Lastly, all service academy matchups get in.

Marshall somehow makes the list when both teams are 6-3, but a rivalry game like FSU-Miami wouldn't. I get that FSU (and to a lesser extent Miami) suck this year....but that's what the line is for.

I get your point, and most of the time, I'd include the game, but consider this. If Marshall loses, they likely lose the lead of CUSA-E, and UAB winning tees up the game next week against UTSA in CUSA-W. What happens if either UM or FSU wins or loses? FSU is dead last in their division and UM ain't going anywhere either. In hindsight, perhaps I should have just posted FSU/UM as the 16th game, but IMO, it's a stinker of a game, much like USC/UCLA is going to be a stinker next week. I don't think that game is going to make it either. It's worth asking the board what they think though, so anyone want to add 2 cents, have at it.

I don't think that game is going to make it either. Again...that's what the lines are for. There's not much interest in the UAB-Marshall game on this board, but FSU-Miami still garners interest, even if both teams suck. UCLA-USC for the same reason. If Ohio State was 1-10 and Michigan was 2-9, you'd still get interest on the board because it is one of those iconic college games. Again, it isn't my show anymore, and for good reason. I'm not issuing criticism because I'm appreciative of you taking up the reins and running the show. I just don't understand how you made your choices on what games to include. Don't include FSU-Miami as a 16th game. It's late in the process, and I don't want to set a precedent that if someone makes a suggestion that you'll relent...it's your show. Just something to consider going forward.

Just something to consider going forward. That selection bias only works because of the specifics of the members here, not CFB generally. I could include OSU and Bama and OU every week based just on member's interest. CWG begged me to include OSU -51 in some game against a doormat a few weeks back. So I get that desire to see your fav in the list. But I'm trying to broaden the teams we need to consider week to week. CUSA may not be in everyone's front seat, but that's more reason to expose us all to it, no? That said, the rivalry aspect does play a part, so I'll accept that critique. FSU/UM shoulda been in.

Do you think even in "CFB generally", that UAB-Marshall is somehow more interesting to the average fan than FSU-Miami? I doubt that seriously. I could get on board if it was for all the marbles in the CUSA, but per your own admission, it is whether the winner might get to play a meaningful game against UTSA next week. And I don't take issue with expanding the viewpoint and the footprint of football to all of us...just not sure how many times we need to pick games involving San Jose State, Nevada, and Marshall to do it. Especially when none of those teams are flirting with being ranked or spoilers. Like I said...just an opinion. Appreciate the effort.
