The Remington 742 is totally legal to own, is more powerful (especially in .30-06), AND it can be equipped with 20- and 30-round magazines just like an AR. Both guns are functionally identical, but only one is called an "assault rifle." How come loony lieberals are so stupid??

I don't need an AR-15. I need a few of them in various configs / purpose builts! They're so fun! But now you know that too. All of my guns are fun to shoot. But I personally need only one example of several of them. I have duplicate 1911 styles and DA revolvers, but the rest are pretty much one of each. For example, I only need one Glock, since they all look and operate alike, although it might be fun to have a G44 for inexpensive shooting.

If I repeat what the US Army says, and you claim I do not know what I am talking about, then you are essentially claiming my source for the info is wrong. That source would be the US Army. There is a reason the Army switched from the M14 to the M16, and that reason was, in part, due to the demonstrated increase in lethality shown in tests of the AR15 prototype. Overall, it was lighter, had less kick, was more reliable, and the lighter round did more damage than the standard M14 round. That isn't me saying it; it is the US Army. |

If the soldier wants to HIT something, he fires the weapon in semiauto mode. If the soldier wants to keep the enemy's head down so his comrades can relocate to other positions, he fires FULL AUTO. The AR is actually MORE efficient, since you can waste ammunition by spraying and praying. It is also very easy to rapid fire an AR. It's not as fast as an M-16, but it is damn sure fast enough to not make you want to stick your head up. So is that Remington 742.

Not entirely true or correct. Only the military version is offered with a fully automatic option. The civilian version, which fires only one shot with a trigger pull, is barely deadlier than a .22 rifle. It only "looks" deadly to the Loony Liberal Leftist Democrats. It is not as deadly as a .30-06 rifle or a .38 revolver. Yet, mass murderers nearly alway choose ARs as their weapon of choice. What is it they know that you don't know? |
