I had a meniscus tear in my knee and the doc said chronic arthritis the rest of my life. Will your procedure result in arthritis or eliminate it? Any idea? Hope to eliminate most of it. Right now I can barely bend the knee. If you look at the picture above, the femur is the bone above the knee, the tibia is the large one below the knee and the fibula is the smaller bone outside the tibia. That is the outside or lateral knee. All of those surfaces should be smooth. Where it's not smooth is arthritis. The space between the tibia and femur on the outside should be wider and equal. That's where what's left of the lateral meniscus is. Move to the middle, that's called the tibial plateau and the ACL & PCL cross in there. Except my ACL is gone, completely ruptured. Then move more to the inside, where it's bone on bone, that's also suppose to be a space for the medial meniscus. Mine is completely maceration. He will replace all those surfaces and rebuild the ligament gipefully giving me a fully functional knee. Pretty cool what doctors can do to rebuild joints, i may need one in about 10-15 years. Well things just keep getting better. Went for my cardio clearance for the knee surgery and my Afib is no longer being controlled by the meds. Going to have another chemical stress test next week and once I'm moving pretty good after the knee surgery I will have a cardiac ablation before moving on to the hip replacements. I'll be 69 next week which means at least I got to experience the 60s twice. 😀

Once my mom decided she wanted to hear what he was saying to us and heard him ripping our asses, complete with a heavy sprinkling of Fwords. Today a mom hears that and tries to get the coach fired. Back then my mom went back to the car and a she ever ssid to me was we should play harder in the first half so the coach doesn't get so mad. |

Sitting in my room on the 7th floor looking out over O town. Grateful for an awesome surgeon and tremendous support staff here at ORMC. New knee went great and so far little pain.
