Great news! Keep working a little every day and all will be well. Amen. PT is great, as I'm sure you know...but after a while, it does get tiresome...From experience, once you hit that point where you say to hekk with it, that's good enough...I'll do more on my own...you have reached your new limits... Hey, I was at that point in the hospital. The 90 to 95 degrees of flexion was easy. This pushing past 100 hurts like a mutter. Fortunately it is over quickly and direct to the ice machine. Feel things will be a little easier when the staples come out.

Well, status one week post surgery. Lower leg continues fairly swollen but not alarming. I have two spots on my incision that continue to weep. Absolutely no signs of infection. Extension remains full to zero while flexion I have up to 97 degrees. Will likely go yo PT facility starting next week. Pain is tolerable. I'm moving in the right direction. Thats good news Darryl__stay on top of the PT and take the pain meds to help sleep thru the night.

The swelling in and around my knee is starting to go down quite a bit. Still have quite a bit of swelling in the foot and ankle from being so immobile. I cut my opioids back five days ago. They had me taking 5mg every 4 hours and since I was doing pretty good I cut it to 5 mg every 8 hours. Hopefully be completely off pain meds in a few more days. Just need this bruising and swelling from the cutting to go away.

I can't sleep on my back and I couldn't get comfortable on either side. But after I got up twice one night to gulp more pills I tossed them and used Tylenol. Same when I had my neck surgery 10 years ago. Both times, when I went for my 10 day checkup the Dr. asked if I wanted more pills and I said "No. I stopped them last week." Both times the doctor looked at me and said, "But everybody always wants more." Keep up the PT and do knee flexes at home daily. I finished my PT two weeks early.

The only medication I take is a once in a blue moon aspirin. Every time I've been prescribed pain medication it had very little effect on me so I tossed them and got out some whisky.

Bourbon has been a very helpful substitute.
