I don't have data, just personal observation.

When I go to gun stores, I see more blacks looking to buy guns than I did just a few years ago.   A lot of them are black women.

When I go to my shooting range, I see many black people in there, shooting AND buying guns, or at least shopping for them.   Again, just a few years ago, it was rare to see black people in the range I use.

I see it every week reviewing 4473s in my role as a compliance specialist consultant. I might review 1,000/ wk, along w other compliance components. The lead study on this thread found that the high correlation between current gun ownership and 19th century slave populations obtained even when they looked solely at white gun ownership rates per county.

In other words, there is a correlation between white gun ownership rates TODAY and county slave populations in the Civil War era.

And there has been a historic correlation between colonial era slavery in the South, armed slave patrols, post-Civil War rifle clubs, the KKK, and police murders of black men in the U.S.

Some historians even claim that the Second Amendment was mainly about maintaining armed slave patrols in Southern states-- "keeping the n*ggers down."

That's the essence of this thread.

I'm sure you can find some writer or group of writers among the millions that have wrote on the subject that will stipulate what you have posted BUT that doesn't make it so or even a reasonable explanation, when it was ratified in 1791. By 1791 there was serious discussion to selling all Negro Slaves to plantations in South America because the commodity they were used as machinery to harvest had sunk AND the overhead cost to maintain that piece of machinery made little room for profit, in that business model. The GIN had not been widely used, yet, actually not invented until 1793. It was because of the GIN and the rise of the commodity markets that cotton production made sense later. It was after the GIN that imported machinery, in the form of Slavery, exploded. Actually, had the GIN waited to be invented by 25 yrs, Slavery would have been over in the USA. THose slaves either sold/given, FOB a USA port, to South American users some minority just set free, to be absorbed in the great continent expansion.

Prove it. Post something other than, "I saw a black guy at the shooting range".
Do that and I will at least know how many more there are. Right now I have no clue how many "a lot" might be because nobody here has any legit data. That is an obvious Q that needs an answer.
If you can't do that, sit down and shut up.
