I've never watched a no hitter in world series game before Only been one. Larsen’s perfecto in ‘56. And Smoltz does give considerable insight. are we about to see history tonight??? |

smoltz is absolutely fantastic. I'm not sure if there's a tv sports analyst on air right now that gives as much insight as he does. I enjoy klatt and herby on cfb, and they're close, but for my $ nobody beats smoltz. I'm not as big a fan of romo, although I like him on air. just don't think he adds what the others do. |

And again Smoltz is the best. His insight as to why certain pitchers are so successful was worth the view and why a no no can still be interesting. Release points AND hand angles. All look the same. And yet so different, a batter has little time to differentiate. Today, a 94 mph FB is common and yet Javier's was so special last night. Smoltz is a student of the game and a teacher.
If he gets here, I gotta ask IHS which Philly V Houston game will he watch? As was Smoltz, I was surprised it's happened seven times in sports history where two cities are playing each other, on the same night, in two different major sports. |

Damn...Verlander is on his game....phillies had their chance earlier with bases loaded2-1 Astros in the 6th gutcheck win for houston last night. phillies’ bats have lost their juice since game 3. better find it fast. |

After going down 1-0, they got an immediate response from Schwarber then had Verlander on the ropes in the 2nd and 3rd. One hit in either of those two situations and I think the game takes a far different turn. It didn't happen and Pena turns on one in the top of the 4th to put the Cheaters Astros back up. |

bummer. hell of a ride by the phillies. even if you improve the roster(hello trea turner) you’re not guaranteed to get back so you have to take advantage when you are in that spot.
