bummer. hell of a ride by the phillies. even if you improve the roster(hello trea turner) you’re not guaranteed to get back so you have to take advantage when you are in that spot. thought I saw a stat where in the final 3 games the phils were 0-31 on final strike curve balls w 17 k’s. congrats on an incredible run the 2nd half of the season. Baseball is such an hard sport. One day a team is tearin' the hide off the ball and the next day it all goes quiet. How many times has a fan said, "I wish they had saved some of those hits last night for today!"

The Phillies collapse was 'deja vu all over again' for me...(tip o' the cap to Yogi).

Separate question...you think Kershaw returns in 2023?No doubt about it. Presuming he doesn't ask for a 5 year deal for a gazillion dollars, no way the Dodgers let him wear another uniform. It's looking like he will sign a series of fat one year deals, Walter Alston/Vin Scully style, until he decides to hang it up.

Not a bad gig...$17 million for 125 innings a year. If healthy his entire career, a 300-game winner imo. He's at 197 and it took the other 300-game winners between 4,000-5,000 innings. Kershaw is only at about 2,600.

I doubt he gets there if for no other reason than his temperamental back limiting his innings a few times a season. Had he been healthy his whole career, I agree, 300 wins would definitely have been on the table.

Someone will take a chance with him if not LA Maybe, but he's got a tall hill to climb and doesn't have a lot of goodwill built up. By time he's off suspension he will be 2 years out of the game. We'll see.

We'll see. I think he will be successful in getting that suspension reduced....he maybe out just a year....we'll see

I heard a talking head the other day who opined that the only way Bauer EVER pitches in MLB again is if he first has a public Michael Vick-like awakening, and then goes somewhere else to play, such as the KBL, or Japan for enough time that fans are willing to forgive and forget and give him another chance.
