No one has claimed Baldwin committed murder.

He DID commit involuntary manslaughter (2 counts) but will not be charged with wounding the director.   The jury will decide which of the 2 counts he is guilty of, and the more serious crime, involuntary manslaughter with a dangerous weapon (not the EXACT title), could put him in prison.

His actions are indefensible, BUT ........ you never know with a jury.

I feel genuinely sorry for Baldwin, and for everyone associated with the tragedy.

I don't have Trn's knowledge to look at Case Law or DB to draw from but it can be as I understand it. In United States law, depraved-heart murder, also known as depraved-indifference murder, is a type of murder where an individual acts with a "depraved indifference" to human life and where such act results in a death, despite that individual not explicitly intending to kill.
