You want to limit the many because of the criminality of the extreme few? It's not the many you should be concerned about. It's the few that will keep on using guns no matter how much the government limits the many. The guns are already out there. This control rhetoric will keep marching down the merry path until the consensus is to completely disarm the population, and then all we're left with is the few still having guns and the rest of us helpless at the business end of a muzzle. There needs to be a lot more aggressiveness by LE on the bad guys with guns, not the guns themselves. That's where the focus needs to be, not on the rest of us and our constitutional right. Use a gun in a violent crime, get the needle, lights out. End of story. what I want is innocent lives to stop getting snuffed out. I assume you do too. suggest a better solution, then, please? you're talking about tougher punishment for those who've already pulled the trigger. lots of these shooters end up ending their own life so I don't think 'getting the needle' solves this. They don't need to have pulled the trigger yet. Go after with a fury the criminals in possession of guns. More intelligence gathering and followup. Special gun task forces. More cops. Enforce the laws and don't release these pricks the next day. Too many stories of that and an innocent murdered two weeks later by the guy let out. Focus on the criminals and make their lives a living hell if they possess a gun(s) illegally. If it takes more prisons, so be it.

Mass murders have greatly increased under magoo's watch. cb, this trend has been on the rise for decades, regardless of what party is in office. No. It hasn't. Look up murder rates in the 70's.

Just protecting your 2nd A rights. Dead people, lots of them, is just the price of freedom. But hey! 'Thoughts and prayers', right? Mass murders have greatly increased under magoo's watch. Organized gang and drug activity has greatly increased since obumer with the corresponding rise in mass murders, not the ones the media loves to gloat about. The ones we never hear about because it's the protected criminal thug class.

Just protecting your 2nd A rights. Dead people, lots of them, is just the price of freedom. But hey! 'Thoughts and prayers', right? I am going to guess we have had laws against murder since the day this nation was officially created. I grew up knowing that it is wrong to murder another person. I don't know exactly HOW I learned it, but I've always known.
So exactly what law do you propose to stop people from murdering other people?

Mass murders have greatly increased under magoo's watch. More freedom! Lot's of it, in fact. What's the problem? The fact that criminals are not being kept behind bars, thanks to loony lieberal judges and prosecutors, is the problem. There ARE some people who don't deserve more freedom, but those people are NOT the millions of law-abiding American gun owners.
Stop being stupid and trying to blame inanimate objects when the true problem is the PEOPLE who misuse them.

So what action do you propose that will stop people who want to kill from killing? No piece of paper stops a person from acting if that person wants to act.

Focus on the criminals and make their lives a living hell if they possess a gun(s) illegally. If it takes more prisons, so be it. that scenario doesn't describe every case but it's certainly applicable to many. thoughts on a national database of gun ownership/registration, which can aid significantly with the intelligence gathering and followup? should individual states be able to devise their own interpretations of how to legislate the 2nd amendment or should that be federally-based?

No piece of paper stops a person from acting if that person wants to act. agreed, but easy access does make it easier to act out aggressions to the extreme, right? having a more rigorous uniform national background check process might be a good start. you can't legislate away a person who wants to kill, but a right to bear arms shouldn't equal a lack of accountability/responsibility when it comes to ownership, nor should it mean a citizen doesn't have to go thru a registration process to own one imho. what do you think? is this something we just need to continue to live with-irony intended-or are there steps we can take reduce the potential of violence w/o damaging the intent of the 2nd amendment?

States rights. The feds should never have a saved database for obvious reasons.

Right...because since, for instance, a very large percentage of guns used to commit crimes in Illinois come from Indiana, why would we want a centralized or even a regional database?

Same old story from you. Stay in the shallow end where you belong.
