So what action do you propose that will stop people who want to kill from killing?
No piece of paper stops a person from acting if that person wants to act. agreed, but easy access does make it easier to act out aggressions to the extreme, right? having a more rigorous uniform national background check process might be a good start. you can't legislate away a person who wants to kill, but a right to bear arms shouldn't equal a lack of accountability/responsibility when it comes to ownership, nor should it mean a citizen doesn't have to go thru a registration process to own one imho. what do you think? is this something we just need to continue to live with-irony intended-or are there steps we can take reduce the potential of violence w/o damaging the intent of the 2nd amendment? Criminals who want guns will get them illegally if they can't get them legally. Find me a criminal who is going to go through a background check before he steals a gun or buys one in a back alley deal.
How many illegal guns are coming across Bitem's wide open Mexican border every day? At what point exactly do those guns and their owners get registered?
Violence is not a function of a gun; it is a function of the human mind. Sorry, but that's the facts. Laws, like locks, only deter honest people.
I own those "evil" guns that can be used to shoot up schools, malls, Walmarts, and do drive-bys. But mine will never be used in such a way as long as I possess them. Guess why.

States rights. The feds should never have a saved database for obvious reasons. Right...because since, for instance, a very large percentage of guns used to commit crimes in Illinois come from Indiana, why would we want a centralized or even a regional database? Post proof.
How many guns from Indiana that end up in Illinois are never used in crimes?
Who says you can't bring a gun from Indiana into Illinois?

Freedom! So where is the problem? The guns were purchased legally, and apparently the ammunition was, too. The problem is with THE CRIMINAL WHO MISUSED THEM. It is already illegal to murder people, comrade.
Mindreading is not part of the gun purchase process so far.
It is illegal to make a false statement on Form 4473, but very few people are charged for it. Hunter Biden was not charged. Why not?
If I am a criminal who lies on Form 4473, chances are good that I will have committed my intended crime before the lies are discovered.
MILLIONS of Americans own guns legally. Very few of those legal gun owners use their guns in an unlawful manner. So again ................. where is the problem with people who legally own guns?
