I blew my gasket last week. The next time I get excited about UF football will be after the axe falls.

If you're referring to Miss. St. coach Dan Mullen, that would be sweet but coaches can't run out on the field and make plays for their players. Coaching is 90% of it but players have to execute....right... The Gators are loaded with talent just waiting to be coached. Talent doesn't continually drop passes..especially in the end zone. Talent doesn't continually throw interception after interception. Talent doesn't allow sack after sack after sack. Talent doesn't give up 45 unanswered points to a team like Missouri. I could go on but why state the obvious. Just like Darrel said, this Gator team is the most inept Gator team in the last 35 years. What we have here is a failure to execute. I say fire the whole team...and yes that includes Muschamp. 'Muschamp must go.' Makes for a nice web-site...don't ya agree...

Good to see you're not on that ledge ED. Maybe A1 is right about Mullins, but would he leave Msu for Uf, Especially if they finish in the playoff

Good to see you're not on that ledge ED. Maybe A1 is right about Mullins, but would he leave Msu for Uf, Especially if they finish in the playoff I'd do a list of positives and negatives for the decision between Mississippi State and UF even if MSU wins the national championship this season, but all of the positives would be on UF's side. However, I'm not sure Dan Mullen is the best UF can do. If he is, he'd be a fool not to take the job. I'd like to see Jeremy Foley take his time contacting people through their agents now and not conduct any interviews or make a hiring decision until after the regular season. My hope is only those who have had previous and successful head coaching experience will be considered. Jeremy Foley is 0-2 in the hiring of head football coaches who have lacked a track record at the head coach level. Money is not an issue. Getting the right hire is all important. The negative for delaying until the end of the season is the 2015 recruiting class will be strongly and negatively impacted. However, I'd gladly sacrifice the 15 class to get the right coach for the long term. My guess is Jeremy Foley has had his list to contact in his possession since before the start of the season. The younger Jeremy Foley would fire Will Muschamp now under the premise that what will have to be done eventually should be done now. If Jeremy chooses to make moves before the end of the season, it would give some coaches not on his list the opportunity to privately express their interest. Bottom line, Will Muschamp is dead head coach walking. Jeremy Foley will do what is in the best long-term interest of UF.

More money, MUCH better facilities, and he'd be back in the middle of a recruiting hotbed like was back when he was an assistant at UF. Mullins will leave Mississippi State and go somewhere bigger and better so the a Gators need to dump Muschamp today and get on the Mullins train first.

Mentioning facilities, UF has never thought an indoor practice facility was needed. There are now action plans that will end up in an indoor facility being built. If it were my decision, I'd side with the younger Jeremy Foley to lower the boom on the Boom today. UF can name an interim HC to finish the season. It would be best for all concerned including Muschamp who would likely thank Foley privately. Contractually, UF is on the hook to Muschamp for the rest of this season and the 15 season. CWM will walk away from UF wealthier than he has ever been and he would be a prime candidate for somebody to reenter the coaching ranks as a top DC. The axe needs to fall so UF can move forward. UF would be able to take its time to get the coaching change done right. With the above stated, Foley told the world that Muschamp would have the season to prove himself. He will likely let Muschamp finish the regular season. However, he could always do what he did with the Zooker who was allowed to finish the season and was even offered to coach the bowl game before he took the Illinois job after he was given his notice of termination.

Agreed, but I have to believe that calls to Starkville have already been made on the down-low. Mullins is in a crap-hole at Mississippi State. He WILL leave very soon an go to a bigger, better program. Michigan needs a coach, along with several other programs where wins would come easier than in the SECw. Mullins saw Sumlin's stock drop from nine to nothing. Mullins will strike will the iron is hot, plus he knows Dak is gone after this season. If Mullins isn't the next head coach at UF I'll be shocked. The only other job I think he'd take would be Michigan, where he'd face conference foes likely more like these: Sept. 27 Minnesota Golden Gophers Oct. 4 at Rutgers Scarlet Knights Oct. 11 Penn State Nittany Lions Oct. 18 --- Open Date --- --- Oct. 25 at Michigan State Spartans Nov. 1 Indiana Hoosiers (HC) Nov. 8 at Northwestern Wildcats Nov. 15 --- Open Date --- --- Nov. 22 Maryland Terrapins Nov. 29 at Ohio State Buckeyes Instead of these conference foes like these: Sept. 13 Kentucky Wildcats Sept. 20 at Alabama Crimson Tide Sept. 27 --- Open Date --- --- Oct. 4 at Tennessee Volunteers Oct. 11 LSU Tigers Oct. 18 Missouri Tigers (HC) Oct. 25 --- Open Date --- --- Nov. 1 Georgia Bulldogs Nov. 8 at Vanderbilt Commodores Nov. 15 South Carolina Gamecocks

Even when you compare the two programs toughest OOC games (FSU and ND respectably) there's not much difference, as last Saturday's game proved. So I guess for Mullins it might come down to where he wants to live.

Tebow wouldn't say it, but I will. The reason UF has no offensive identity is that Will Muschamp has handicapped his 3rd OC in his 4 seasons with UF. Kurt Roper could have been the answer if only Muschamp would have turned the keys of the offense over to him. Unfortunately, Muschamp stood in the way of his own chance for success. Now, Muschamp is win out or be terminated. The next loss can't get here soon enough for me:
From the Sports Desk Tebow weighs in on Gators
Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 12:33 by Zach Abolverdi You can count Tim Tebow as one of many members of the Gator Nation who isn’t happy with the current state of Florida football.
The ESPN analyst and former UF quarterback appeared Tuesday on 1010XL radio in Jacksonville and discussed a few topics, including offensive woes and how the team is playing.
Tebow was disappointed in Florida’s showing against Missouri over the weekend.
“It was tough to watch. If you’re a Gator fan it was not easy to watch,” he said. “They just didn’t play with the heart that I’m used to watching Florida Gators play with.”
Tebow gave his thoughts on why the offense has struggled this season.
“One of the biggest problems on the offense is leadership,” he said. “I don’t think that offense has an identity right now, and I don’t think that they know what they want their identity to be.”
The Gators are now 3-3 on the year and 2-3 in the SEC, all but eliminating them from the race in the East. Although a trip to Atlanta now seems like a lost cause, Tebow hopes the players can find a way to rally around each other.
“You need to have something to motivate you, something to give you an edge … they’re are not out of the SEC East,” he said. ”Maybe they can rally around the ‘our backs are against the wall’ mentality.”
