If Muschamp had made this decision after the bama game, he likely wouldn't be on the fast track to losing his job now. His meddling in Roper's offense and his blind commitment to Jeff Driskel has cost him his job. He has nobody to blame except himself. His announcement is too little too late. This from the Gainesville Sun:
By Robbie Andreu Staff writer
Published: Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 11:44 a.m.
The Florida Gators have a new starting quarterback -- true freshman Treon Harris.
UF coach Will Muschamp announced Wednesday that Harris will start against Georgia on Nov. 1. Although he said this is Harris' game, Muschamp also said struggling former starter Jeff Driskel will continue to have a role on the team.
“Treon Harris will start the Georgia game. He's getting all the reps (with the No. 1 offense),” Muschamp said on the SEC coaches' teleconference. “Jeff is certainly going to have a role in that game.
“Treon, you saw what he did in the game (against Missouri). He has a knack for making plays and making some good things happen for our football team. He's got a much better understanding as we continue to go forward. We have an open date where he's getting a bunch of reps.
“Right now, we felt that was the best move moving forward.”

Florida Gators fan creates Craigslist ad to find the next UF head coachChrisKirshner Chris Kirschner, FanBuzz Writer Posted on October 21, 2014 7:33 pm Florida fans are desperate to get current head coach Will Muschamp out of the door. From chanting “Fire Muschamp” at the homecoming loss to Missouri, to creating websites devoted to the hiring of Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen and now creating an ad for a new head coach. The ad is pretty detailed and includes some gems. Here are the best: •If you are hired, you must be previously groomed to 1) Win consistently, 2) Stay for more than 4 seasons, and 3) have composure when roaming the sidelines. Composure includes but is not limited to 1) not screaming at players and referees regularly, 2) resisting facial expressions suggesting you are ready to commit violent acts on the sideline, 3) taking personal shots at other fan bases on live tv after barely winning a game you should have lost, and 4) not looking like a deer in the headlights when things go wrong… repeatedly, caused on the field by your own first-teamers. •Ability to win games against glorified high schools and junior colleges, aka cupcakes, especially when the contest is held on the university’s own campus. •Your offense must be able to score more points than the opposing team’s defense. Your offense must be able to score more points than the opposing team’s special teams as well. •Ability to start a quarterback that can identify the difference between Gators players and opposing players when throwing passes. Said quarterback must also never possess any form of lubricant on hands (butter, baby oil, etc) when holding a football during game conditions. •Must not have the last name of Zook. We tried you out once. Didn’t work out. Sorry. Florida has severely struggled this year. Even in its wins, (besides Eastern Michigan) the Gators have struggled. UF needed three overtimes to beat Kentucky and escaped Knoxville with a close win over Tennesse. Both games were aided by controversial calls that went in UF’s favor. Fans are really struggling right now and this video shows exactly what the Gators faithful is going through. I hope a college football head coach answers the ad with his resume attached. It would be the greatest story ever of how a school got its head coach. Read more at thefanbuzz.com/story/gators-fan-creates-craigslist-ad-to-find-the-next-uf-head-coach/#g5SE36zA4CxtLamz.99

UF is 8-5 against the poodles from 2002-2014. Of course, everyone knows UF was 11-1 against the poodles in Spurrier's 12 years from 1990-2001. Since 1990, a quarter of a century, UF is 19-6 against UGALY.

Dooley's List of Unlikely Florida Wins:
Dooleys Desk The Sunday Blog falls back Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 11:29 by Pat Dooley
The clocks fell back and I woke up late after staying up to watch the West Coast games, so this comes at you a little late. Not that I’m apologizing.
1. The comparisons between Will Muschamp and Ron Zook will never die and one reason is that things keep happening that are so similar. Chalk up one more. The last time Florida beat an Associated Press Top 10 team when the Gators were unranked was 2004 when Zook beat FSU in his final game as Florida’s coach. Saturday might have been the final game for Muschamp had Florida not won. Instead, he’s getting ready for Vandy and the Georgia fan base is left to wonder if Mark Richt is one of those coaches who is really good but can’t find great with a flashlight.
2. Have you seen the video of Steve Spurrier’s walk-off news conference? He talked for 45 seconds, announced that he didn’t need to take questions and left the stage. You blow three two-touchdown, fourth-quarter leads in one season and you’d be ticked off, too. The reality is that the Gamecocks could finish with a 5-7 record after being picked in the top 10 in the preseason. And they have five straight games of over 500 yards of offense. So what chances does Lorenzo Ward, South Carolina’s defensive coordinator, have of being retained?
3. Hey, Ole Miss. Welcome to big boy football. Because this is what can happen in big boy football. You build up expectations, celebrate wins and find out it’s a weekly game with heartache around the corner. I’m not sure any team has gone through back-to-back weeks like the Rebels have. To lose on what appeared to be the go-ahead touchdown before review and lose your big-play receiver on the play and lose your chances to be in the playoff all in a few seconds, well, the Toddies aren’t so Hotty right now.
4. My friend Scott Carter of Gatorzone.com asked me after the game where I’d put this in a list of improbable or unexpected wins for Florida in its history. Today, I’m ready to answer that question.
1. Houston, 1969. The Cougars had scored 100 points in the previous season and were ranked No. 1 by Playboy.
2. FSU, 1971. Florida was 0-5 and FSU was 5-0. That’s all you need to know.
3. FSU, 2004. Zook’s last game came on the night they dedicated the field to Bobby Bowden and FSU was ranked 10th.
4. Saturday, 11/1/14.
5. Alabama, 1987. They unleashed Emmitt that day in Birmingham as No. 11 Alabama fell.
6. Auburn, 1986. People forget that unranked Florida took down No. 5 Auburn that day and Kerwin Bell was not expected to play. He did.
7. Georgia, 2002. As the teams ran onto the field for Zook’s first game he ran to the wrong bench. Then he took down the 15th-ranked Doggies.

Florida's Unofficial Depth Chart: www.gatorzone.com/football/stats/depth.pdfTwo players will miss at Vandy next Saturday night (SEC Network): 1. Trenton Brown is out with a bone bruise. He got the bruise in the UGALY game, but he was still able to play. Tyler Moore to start. 2. Keanu Neal is out with a high ankle sprain. It looked bad so he might not be back until at FSU. Nick Washington/Marcell Harris to share spot. Gerald Willis missed the UGALY game with a high ankle sprain. He'll be checked this week, but he's questionable. I doubt he'll play against the dores. If not, Jon Bullard moves back to DE and Leon Orr and Joey Ivie move back up at DT. Leon Orr played against UGALY for the first time since the at bama game after which he had his knee scoped. Other Changes To Note: Offense: Ahmad Fulwood has been promoted over Quinton Dunbar. It came down to Dunbar dropping too many passes to stay in the starting lineup. Treon Harris is #1 at QB followed by Jeff Driskel. CJ Worton is listed above Latroy Pittman at slot WR - both will play. Brandon Powell comes off the bench at RB before Mack Brown, but both will play. Defense: Jalen Tabor is starting ahead of Brian Poole at CB. Caleb Brantley has moved to the 2 at NT behind Darious Cummings. Prior to the change, Jay-nard Bostwick was listed at the 2. He has been bumped down to the 3. To me, Brantley is extremely skilled, fast, has great size, and plays more like a fast DT rather than a NT. With Leon Orr back off injury, UF is back to 5 deep at defensive tackle not counting Jon Bullard. It's a good place to be with depth at DT this late in the season. If Muschamp doesn't meddle too much with the offense, UF could have a good stretch run and save his job. It would be Zooker/Muschamp-like to beat UGALY and lose at Vandy.

Two very winnable games that would get the gators bowl eligible. Win the next two after that and we're talking decent bowl, especially if Mizzou and UGA drop another one.

UGALY players admit to underestimating UF. I'll add they were overconfident too: ATHENS - Ramik Wilson had a frank assessment of why Georgia's defense struggled so much, especially against the run, last Saturday. "We weren't ready to play. We underestimated our opponent, pretty much," Wilson said after Monday's practice. "We weren't ready to play. We didn't execute." Wilson declined to use the word overconfident. But he did say it appeared the Bulldogs "got too comfortable." Georgia had just won two straight road games fairly convincingly, and Florida came in struggling. "We didn't play with the fire we normally have, the intensity," Wilson said. "So we've gotta keep practicing hard and get that momentum back we had." Georgia (6-2) began preparations for the trip to Kentucky (5-4), which will be its fourth straight away from home, and fourth (and presumably last) game without star tailback Todd Gurley. But for players who came up for interviews, the main subject remained what went wrong in the 38-20 loss to Florida. Wilson and senior cornerback Damian Swann declined to use the available excuses: The Gurley saga being too draining, playing a third straight game away from home. "To be great you've gotta go through all those things," Swann said. "You've gotta go win on the road, you've gotta go win on neutral sites, you've gotta go play a good opponent every week. That's the big deal of this league, you've gotta go do it each week, whether Todd was there or not. Would that have changed the outcome? Shoot, we still gave up 400 yards rushing." It was pointed out to Swann that Georgia has lost both its games this year coming off a bye week. "Florida had a bye week. Looked like it worked for them," Swann said. "That's one of those things we're not gonna point the finger at. The bye week, Todd not being there. We're a good football team. We're a good program. So when you have those things you've gotta overcome them. And we didn't, and shoot, we got wiped off the field." Georgia's run defense had been one of its strengths, but now the Bulldogs seem to expect future opponents, starting with Kentucky, to follow Florida's blueprint: Run it, and run it a lot. "If I was a coordinator I know I would," Swann said. Swann and Wilson were reluctant to talk much about what went wrong on Saturday. When Swann was asked whether the problem was getting off blocks or tackling, he said he didn't want to get into it. When asked later if Florida receivers blocked reallly well on the edge, Swann answered: "I'm kind of over the Florida game." So what's been the mood on defense the past two days? Wilson said they were "in good spirits," and understood they had to stay together because the games were going to be tougher. "We've gotta go to Kentucky, and they're good at their house. And we've got Auburn coming in," Wilson said. "We've gotta stick together and regroup." Swann said the response on Monday was simple: "Regroup and move forward. That's pretty much all we can do." I can't get past Vandy. Will Muschamp is just as likely to pull at Zooker and lose this weekend in Nashville. UF will handle Vandy easily and will almost certainly go bowling with a minimum of seven wins. Hell, if the gators get on a roll they could beat FSU (several teams almost did this season and UF has as much talent as any of those teams). That would put UF at 8-3. Like I said, a little help from Mizzou and UGA could put UF in the SECCG with a chance for a 10 win season. Chances are UF will lose to FSU and beat Georgia Tech in the Gator Bowl to finish 8-4. (Would have been 9-4 with that Idaho game). Not too shabby, and definitely lets Muschamp keep his job.
