Interesting....I thought I'd read that due to all of the money being paid for Muschamp and the new coach that the IPF was on hold...

Damnit! Will Muschamp is on vacation out of the country through the weekend, but there is a lot of smoke that he will be going to South Carolina to team up with Steve Spurrier as the DC and head coach in waiting. Hey Will, go to AU or aTm instead.

Boring! UF vs. ECU in the Birmingham Bowl and then 9 months later in Gainesville. This from the Gainesville Sun:
By Robbie Andreu Staff writer
Published: Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 5:50 p.m.

The Florida Gators and the East Carolina Pirates are going to have a chance to get to know each other very well over the next nine months or so.
The Gators learned Sunday evening that they will be playing in the Jan. 3 Compass Birmingham Bowl at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala. Their opponent is East Carolina (8-4), the same school the Gators play in their second game next season on Sept. 12 in Gainesville.
The Gators (6-5 overall and 4-4 in the SEC) are returning to a bowl game after missing postseason play last season after going 4-8.
Kickoff is set for noon for the Birmingham Bowl and will be carried by ESPN. This will be UF's first game in Birmingham since the Gators beat Alabama in the second SEC Championship Game in 1993.
Florida is a team in transition heading into the bowl game. Head coach Will Muschamp was fired Nov. 16, and his final game was the Gators' loss to No. 1 Florida State on Nov. 29.
Defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin is the Gators' interim head coach for the bowl game. New head coach Jim McElwain said Saturday that he will not be involved in bowl preparation or the game.
McElwain is meeting with the players this morning and then will hit the road to recruit for the rest of the week.
The Gators became bowl eligible with a 52-3 win over Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 22, just five days after Muschamp was fired.

I hear Palatka is beautiful this time of the year. People say the same thing about Miami. Both are wrong.

I'll buy beer and BBQ at Dreamland if you Lizard Lickers are going to the game. That's a tempting offer, but I'm staying home. All I can think about in Birmingham are my medical treatments at UAB. My mind won't let me go to Birmingham for fun. I was hoping for Shreveport and some Cajun food. Jacksonville would have been ok too. Besides, UConn at UF tips off an hour after the bowl game starts. The basketball Gators should be a very competitive team by the time that game is played.

(not a drinker issue) He has been on the transplant list for about 4 years. They called him three weeks ago about midnight and his wife drove him down. Surgery the next morning and 7 days in ICU, then almost 2 weeks in the Ronald McDonald House as they got his meds adjusted. He has to avoid people for the few weeks to ensure against catching the flu but by the first of the year he should be good to go.

UAB is a good hospital insofar as any hospital being a good place to be when you need it.

Finally someone at the Gainesville Sun shows some common sense. Robbie Andreu wrote an article that Trn could have written. I wonder if Robbie is getting ready to move to the Tallahassee Democrap? www.gatorsports.com/article/20141210/ARTICLES/141209629?p=1&tc=pg On his last day on the job, Will Muschamp said he was leaving a “bunch of talented players” behind for the new head coach at Florida. What that new coach, Jim McElwain, is going to discover very shortly is that the bulk of that talent is on the defensive side of the ball. McElwain, an offensive coach, is going to face a big challenge putting together his first Florida offense in the spring. Here’s what he’s going to have to work with:

Gus Malzahn hits a grand slam - Will Muschamp agreed to join the Malzahn staff at Auburn as DC. His contract is reported to be a base of $1.5 million per year and between $1.6 and $1.8 million with incentives. UF owes Muschamp $6.3 million over the next 3 years. The Malchamp team is going to be a monster.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Muschamp had interviewed for the Houston HC job.
