While at lunch, I was watching ESPN. At the Thursday practice, the team ostracized Cooper during practice. It appears that the Eagles are a sin free team that has thrown the first stones in a stoning of a difficult situation. The report also said the local black community and the NAACP has contacted Philadelphia. They don't think the punishment has been hard enough. I don't know what suspension John Rocker got, but they are demanding a suspension like whatever he received. The NAACP can go to hell, but the team ostracizing Cooper cannot be corrected to salvage the locker room or the playing field. The Eagles will next cut Cooper effectively ending his football career. No other team will touch him now or ever. The sadness of this situation is no forgiveness and no willingness to give a guy a break who has never exhibited racist tendencies before. It's double sad as the banishment from the NFL will be the standard set for future racial transgressions when they occur. Next time, it could be white or black players. Racist comments captured on cell phone cameras are time bombs waiting to happen. There will be future explosions that will have a harsh standard for punishment. |

Yankee? Why I oughta.......  Actually I am shocked it took that long to get a response. I figured something like that would travel through the ether and set up an alarm in your head. No doubt...there was an immediate disturbance in the Force. |

Riley Cooper was invited to the stage along with other Philadelphia Eagles. The black security guard that was blocking his entry to the stage was probably the only black person in the stadium:
He was behaving like the drunken fool he was that night. (shaking head)

Jorts are a Gator thing. You could never understand.  Deciding to end the career of someone who has exactly one incident with hate speech is a dangerous precedent to set for future NFL player occurrences. Given that the NFL is 80% black, I hope cooler heads prevail. |

Jorts are a Gator thing. You could never understand. I am ok with not being in that club. This would all go away now if ESPN would just let it die. I can only imagine how bad this would be if Cooper wasn't as remorseful as he has been. Time to move on. |

Fortunately we always kept treatment for anaphylaxis close at hand and my breathing was restored to normal within thirty or so minutes. |

Looked at a practice opportunity there when I first came out of training but both my wife and I liked just about every other area better. Wound up staying close to home anyway. |
