Mac apologized and he should have. To have two offensive minded coaches and have that kind of performance is pathetic. I really don't know what to say except Luke Del Rio has been awful since coming back from his injury, not sure he ever fully recovered mentally or physically, so to have Mac talking about getting the freshmen or Appleby ready to replace Del Rio is a day late and a dollar short. I apologize for leading you and lz down the rosey path that we would be good offensively if we could just get Del Rio performing at a level between average and good. It hasn't happened and for that I am truly sorry this morning. Arkansas showed what a good program does when it has its manhood questioned. We'll find out against USC next weekend, a noon game on CBS, if the team can overcome injuries and come out with fire and desire to play the game. IMO, it's the coaches job to now do what Bielma did during the two weeks the piggies had to prepare for UF. No need to apologize ET, you were being your normal optimistic self. It didn't work out. I am most concerned about how UF cannot get a competent QB. Even with new coaches. Toward the end of the season, the QB position regresses to the point we have an offense that a D1AA team would be embarrassed with. I honestly don't get it. This is happening under multiple coaches with a great talent bases. I really can't see us winning another game this season, let the Gator Haters rejoice. On the up side, even when we suck we still close the gap with the poodles, and that helps a lot. no grave dancing here, especially since i thought uf's d would give the gators enough to keep this close. that said, i don't know how anyone can look at the offense last week or this week and say things are headed in the right direction. no possession of more than 5 plays til midway thru the 4th qtr is certainly a tough way to win. one thing for sure... and et's right in this question.. after 2 straight awful weeks, this offense will have its football manhood-coaches and players- on the line next week. tough to see positive outcomes vs lsu and fsu if it doesn't turnaround. btw, at 2-3 in the league, tennessee i believe now controls its own destiny to win the sec east, correct? unreal.

If UT beats UK this weekend, and then loses to Missouri and Vandy, and UF loses to the Gamecocks and Corndogs, then all 3 would be 4-4. UT would go to Atlanta because they'd have head to head over UF and UK. If the Cats beat the Vols this weekend, and UF loses out, then UK goes to Atlanta. That would be fitting for how bad the SEC East is this year.

The Slimy Lizards have 2 SEC games left. USCe and LSU. If Muschump is has revenge on his mind the Lizards could lose both games. The Gamecocks have a frosh QB that looks pretty good right now. Unfortunately, the Funky Chickens give up more points than they score, so Flarder might score enough to win. 21 points should do it. But, if Flarder loses their last 2, UTk loses one, and Georgia beats Auburn, then we would 4 teams at 4-4. Tennessee has UK, Mizzou, and Vandy left to play.

[I might start a drive to make LSU an honorary member of the SEC East just for this year. Then at least we would have a decent team representing us in the SECCG.

In case you guys missed it, Luke Del Rio is out with an injured shoulder. I was blaming his lack of strength and accuracy on his injured knee, but that was not the case. It wasn't an injury from the piggie game. Mac said in his Monday presser that he knew about the shoulder injury, but didn't know how serious the injury was. I'm blaming Mac for not knowing, but Doug Nussmeier should have stepped up and made the switch at QB 2 games back. Right now, I'm having real concerns about the offensive staff, much like I did when we went conservative much too early at UT, and how they did or did not communicate Del Rio's seriousness of shoulder injury to Mac.
Two coaches I'd look at in the offseason are Nussmeier and OL coach Mike Summers. IMO, neither are showing themselves to be as good as advertised. Changes can sometimes be good to right a ship sailing in the wrong direction.
There are plenty of other injuries, most lost for the season. I'll give an injury update after Mac's Wednesday afternoon after practice presser.

Injuries heading to LSU - no sugar coating this as it is bad for our chances to win, likely leaves the East for UT to take:

UF is down to 7 starters out for LSU. OL Tyler Jordan and DE/DT CeCe Jefferson will both play at least some limited snaps.
LSU is dumb as a box of rocks. Some of their players are saying UF is afraid to play LSU. It's never a good idea to stir up a hornet nest of Gators for no reason.

Final count out for the LSU game - 6 starters and 1 backup WR. OL David Sharpe like Tyler Jordan returned to practice on Wednesday. If nothing else should the two give a limited number of plays, the OL will have its normal depth and rotations. TJ McCoy at C and Kavaris Harkless at LG with Martez Ivey moving over to LT did well against USC should those guys be called on more for heavier snaps.
On offense, QB Luke Del Rio, C Cameron Dillard, and 2 WR CJ Worton are out.
On defense, SDE Bryan Cox Jr., both LBs (Jarrad Davis & Alex Anzalone), and starting S Marcus Maye are out. To say UF's baby Gators on defense are going to be challenged by Fournette & Co. is a gross understatement.
This from Zach A. at SEC Country:
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida could have two of its starting offensive lineman back for the LSU game. On the SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday, UF coach Jim McElwain said center/guard Tyler Jordan (ankle) returned to practice Tuesday. Following Wednesday’s night practice, McElwain also revealed that left tackle David Sharpe (ankle) was back in action. Both Jordan and Sharpe were injured last Saturday against South Carolina. “Sharpe took some reps today, which is good to see. Had a pretty good look in his eye, so we’ll see there,” McElwain said. “Tyler Jordan, he bounced around a little bit yesterday, got a little bit more today. I think he definitely can play a backup role for us, which is good.” The Gators are still trying to determine what their startling offensive line would be if Jordan and/or Sharpe can play Saturday. “Well you know we’ll see,” McElwain said. “T.J. (McCoy) did a good job (at center) in the game. Kavaris Harkless did a great job (at left guard). We love the way (Martez Ivey) played out there (at left tackle). And more than anything, what I liked is I liked the energy in which they played the game. Those guys, I got total confidence in them.” McElwain reiterated that defensive end CeCe Jefferson (foot) will play at LSU after missing the South Carolina game. UF will be without six starters against the Tigers: linebackers Alex Anzalone (broken arm) Jarrad Davis (ankle), defensive end Bryan Cox Jr. (ankle), quarterback Luke Del Rio (shoulder), center Cam Dillard (knee), safety Marcus Maye (broken arm).

By Pat Dooley Staff writer Published: Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 5:48 p.m. Last Modified: Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 8:12 p.m. Offense B First half: Florida only managed 60 yards and couldn’t get receivers open at all. The Gators had seven yards in the second quarter. Second half: The 98-yard touchdown pass can sure fluff up your offensive stats, but Florida took control of the line of scrimmage. For the game: It wasn’t pretty, as Jim McElwain said, and there were some questionable calls, but the Gators did enough to win. Defense A- First half: LSU’s first two drives went for 149 yards and ate up most of the quarter as Florida’s defense fought for stops. Second half: LSU had some impressive drives but Florida’s red zone defense was pretty special. For the game: The defense gave up 423 yards … and won the game. The goal-line stand was one of the most amazing things in UF history. Special teams A First half: Jalen Tabor had a nice kickoff return and Johnny Townsend averaged 53.8 yards a punt. Second half: Eddy Pineiro was money after a trying week for the kicker and getting that fumbled kickoff was a game-changer. For the game: Florida continues to win the special teams battles, which is a big reason this team is going to Atlanta. Overall A It was an amazing win that meant so much to this team, this program and a certain former athletic director. Florida will feel the reverberations of this game for years to come.

The Sunshine Showdown on Ron Zook Field at Doak Campbell Stadium has been set for 8 PM EST and will be nationally televised by ABC:
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida travels to Tallahassee for its final game of the regular season to face rival Florida State in prime time. The game is set for an 8:00 p.m. EST kickoff on ABC.
Since its inception in 1958, The Florida-Florida State series, better known as the Sunshine Showdown, has etched itself into sports lore as one of the most prominent rivalries in college football history. In this rivalry of sustained runs, Florida boasts a 34-24-2 all-time record against the Seminoles, along with a 13-12-1 mark in Tallahassee. Prior to last season when No. 13-ranked FSU topped No. 12 UF, there had been no upsets in this rivalry over the previous 10 seasons, as the higher ranked team has won each of those games.
Florida's last win in Tallahassee came in 2012.
