Sean White, the Elite 11 MVP, is from Ft Lauderdale. With UF holding Grier and Miami holding Kaaya, it'll be interesting to see where he ends up.

I think Doug was more of a head case than Jeff.

It's just more evidence to me that Jeff Driskel is not 100% committed to UF football. A few weeks ago, Jeff tweeted that he was bored. One of the coaches tweeted back for him to spend more time in the film room.
The Florida starting QB should be a leader on the team. He should be leading film study and voluntary workouts/practices. I have my doubts that we're going to see the expected second year starting bump that should be expected from Jeff with his potentially strong skills. He may not be the Doug Johnson head case, but he doesn't appear to be 100% committed to UF football either.
The coming season can be as successful as Jeff Driskel performs. I want him to be doing everything he can to ensure that success. To me, signing with the Red Sox is an unnecessary distraction and especially so if he plays minor league baseball next year instead of concentrating on his senior/NFL campaign.

Honestly, I think in the long run you will be better off when the next QB takes over. Driskel has never really impressed me at all and he certainly doesn't strike fear in my heart about playing UF this year. Maybe he steps up and proves me wrong but I think you will be better after he leaves.

I hope you're wrong, but I fear you're right. Three years ago, it was Driskel as the Elite 11 MVP and the #1 rated QB in the 11 recruiting class. He hasn't lived up to the expectations, yet. I give him this season to prove himself to be the NFL caliber QB everyone thought he was or he'll be playing his money season out while playing minor league baseball going in. If he doesn't make the jump this season, he's peaked and won't do it as a senior.
UF's future QB, Will Grier, won't be on campus until January or June, 2014. I hate to think of UF flopping around in 13 and 14 because Driskel didn't do everything possible to be a national champion and a high pick in the NFL draft.

Kyle Wright was the number one QB in the country when he came to Miami and, although not terrible he was never anything close to what was expected. Not sure where Olsen finished last year. I know he was an Elite 11 finalist. Hoping it wasn't number one. <g>

After leading the U18s to a Gold Medal last year, Billy D is on the verge of doing the same thing with the U19s:
Florida head coach Billy Donovan has led USA Basketball’s U19 team to the gold medal game at the FIBA World Championships in Prague, Czech Republic. The American squad posted a 100-60 win over Lithuania in the semifinals on Saturday to earn a spot in the final against Serbia.
Florida guard Michael Frazier II (Tampa, Fla.) scored nine points against Lithuania, shooting 3-for-4 from the 3-point line.
"I thought it (the USA's focus and intensity) was really good," said Donovan. "This was a game where our guys came out and really from start to finish played really, really good basketball and I was proud of them tonight.
"We gave ourselves an opportunity to play for the gold medal, that was the goal and now we'll have a great challenge against a Serbia team that obviously we played in an incredibly hard-played game a couple of days ago."
The teams met in the group stage, with the USA claiming a 71-62 win against Serbia on July 3. The Serbian team has been the only opponent to stay within 25 points of the USA during the competition.
The gold medal game will be at 2:15 p.m. Eastern on Sunday and will be streamed live on ESPN3.
The countries previously met in the 2007 gold medal game, with Serbia claiming the victory. This year marks the 11th playing of the U19 World Championships (formerly the Junior World Championships), and the USA will be playing for its fifth gold medal all-time.

Contrary to what TYHNC thinks, Darious Cummings will be in UF's two deep and he will be as good as anybody FSU puts on the field at DT including Tim Jernigan. This from Gator Country:
Today we take a look at JUCO transfer Darious Cummings.
History
Cummings committed to, signed and played two seasons at Florida State before transferring to East Mississippi Community College. He spent a year at the community college level before committing to Florida in November. He chose the Gators over Ole Miss, a school he was previously committed to.
A couple of factors make Cummings different than other members of the 2013 recruiting class. First, he has D1 game experience from playing at Florida State. Cummings also enrolled mid-year at Florida and was able to participate in spring practice for the Gators, giving him a head start on the rest of the 2013 recruiting class.
Player Evaluation
Strengths
At 6’3”, 310-pounds Cummings has great size to play defensive tackle and can even play nose tackle when needed to.
Cummings excels against the run where his is a big space eater. Cummings can take on double teams and drive his man off of the line of scrimmage with ease.
Cummings plays with a high motor for a big man. He is a relentless pursuer of the ball carrier and uses his hands well. Cummings can also be a disruptive force from the interior. He uses his size and brute force to drive offensive linemen back into the pocket.
Weaknesses
Cummings was a little small coming out of high school but has added the necessary size to play on the interior since he’s been in college. Unfortunately, he lost some of his initial burst and speed off of the line when he added on the pounds.
He can sometimes get too high and needs to work on staying low and playing with leverage on every snap.
What to Expect
Will Muschamp has shown a desire to bring in JUCO players. For one, they come in with experience and are normally more ready to step in and play right away. That is exactly the case with Cummings. Expect Cummings to be a regular contributor on the defensive line. While he isn’t expected to start right away, Cummings will fit right into the rotation from day one. Cummings will be an impact player for the Gators in 2013.

USA U19 wins gold 82-68 over Serbia. USA beat Serbia 71-62 last Wednesday in a qualifying round. The Serbs were the only team to give USA good games.
