I think it takes us out of it for Marlon Humphrey, and may effect McClain...a DE recruit. I think most are taking a wait-and-see approach to who we hire. Sent from my XT907 using proboards I went down the list of FSU's D commitments and didn't see anyone that UF had been recruiting. McClain might be the exception.

I still think Jackson ends up at FSU...I really don't give a hoot what his uncle says. But, but, but what about the space? I agree. I might have bought his dog and pony show if the kid had made the comments. I count an open spot in the class until his LOI is sent, received, and accepted on NSD by UF. We can only sign 30 total with our 5 EEs....leaving 25. We are currently at 24.

Beyond him, Christmas, Featherston, Daub, and Marshall all list Florida offers.

Is Pugh the outside linebacker? If so, yes, UF recruited him, but it has been a while ago.
UF would take Christmas in a heart beat, but he's solid FSU. I've seen no reports since last summer that UF is recruiting him.
Daub actually wanted to commit to UF after he decommitted LSU, but UF wasn't ready to accept his commitment. Both parties moved away from each other after that.
Featherston and Marshall? I don't know anything about either one.

I knew you were after Pugh. FSU and UF were his two finalists....I think Alabama was there too.
Christmas is a stud...but you're right, he's one of those great commits that has been with us since the start and has told other coaches not to call him or his school because he isn't interested.
Daub, Pugh, and Purifoy are an incredible haul at LB for FSU...excited to see those guys.
Featherston is basically potential. Kid is 6'7.....215. Yeah...you read that right. Our coaches like his quickness, but obviously, at DE, he needs 2 years in the weightroom, but he has the talent.
Marshall is almost as diehard as Christmas. He's a safety that runs in the low 4.3s....kid is lightning fast and hits like a truck. We are lucky to have him.
Credit to UF....all of the ones on our list that you guys would be interested in are studs.

Purifoy is Loucheiz Purifoy's cousin. I was a bit hacked at him when he committed to FSU so early in the process. I don't think UF offered or recruited him which makes me a bit hacked off with UF as well. He's going to be a good one.

Saw that Holley flipped from Penn State with Florida. Not overly surprised considering O'Brien and then Johnson are gone.....good get though. That guy is going to be good.

I wondered if he was related to Loucheiz...but when I didn't see a UF offer, I thought it was just coincidence. I agree. I like Pugh the best, but I like Purifoy more than Daub, to be honest.

That guy is going to be good. 6'4"/299 and played basketball before playing football his last two years in high school. He may be a bit raw, but he's going to be a good one. He's 4 stars on Rivals, Scout, 247 Sports and someone said he's 5 stars on ESPN. He just took Christmas' slot.

Didn't this kid state he was a solid PSU commit no matter what when the coach left? LOL!!! Nothing is set until the LOI is signed, sealed and delivered.

I think it came down to him wanting DL coach Larry Johnson to be promoted or stay with PSU. Johnson moved on the tOSU so Holley flipped to UF who was his second choice in the recruiting process before the coaching changes at PSU. I was thinking Holley would follow Johnson to tOSU, but thankfully that didn't happen.

Article on Thomas Holley flipping from Gator Country:
Written by Andrew Spivey, January 15, 2014
Will Muschamp has his flipper in full force again this week as the Florida Gators have flipped another commitment, this time from a Big 10 ten school. Defensive tackle Thomas Holley (6-4, 299 Brooklyn, NY Abraham Lincoln) flipped his commitment on Wednesday from Penn State to Florida, the team that finished runner-up when he made his initial commitment in December.
Holley visited the Gators twice last year but ultimately decided to play for Penn State and defensive line coach Larry Johnson but all of that came crashing down when both Johnson and Bill O’Brien left Penn State.
Florida commit Khairi Clark was one of Florida’s main recruiters for Holley as the New York prospect told GC that Clark texted him every day about flipping to Florida.
“Khairi recruited me a little bit saying with him at the nose and me at the three-technique we can dominate other O-lines and it’s good,” Holley said.
With the commitment of Holley the Gators now have 21 commitments in the Class of 2014 and now five defensive linemen which includes two defensive tackles Clark and Holley.

Thomas Holley from the Gainesville Sun:
Gators garner commit from top recruit By Zach Abolverdi Correspondent

Florida flexed its muscles on the recruiting trail once again Wednesday with the commitment of Thomas Holley.
The Under Armour All-American 6'4"/303 defensive tackle from Brooklyn (N.Y.) Abraham Lincoln is the fourth prospect UF has flipped this month.
Holley chose Penn State over Florida in December, but the coaching changes in Happy Valley caused him to switch schools.
“People think this was a hard decision for him — it wasn’t,” said Shawn O’Connor, Holley’s high school coach. “He built a great relationship with Florida and Penn State, and when he narrowed it down to those two it was really hard at that time to pick one over the other.
“Then when the situation changed at Penn State, it was real easy and clear to him that he was destined to be a Gator. The relationship he built with that staff, there’s no way he could have built that with James Franklin and his coaches in two weeks.”
Holley’s future position coach and primary recruiter at Penn State, Larry Johnson, left for Ohio State this week, a move many thought could open the door for the Buckeyes.
“That never crossed his mind,” O’Connor said. “He took an official visit there and had an idea of what they were all about, but he eliminated them. He didn’t see himself going to Ohio State, and that wasn’t going to change no matter who the coaches were.”
O’Connor believes Holley will not be receptive to the recruiting efforts of Franklin and Urban Meyer in the coming weeks.

Trn, you may be right about Jimbo trying to force out a few players to make way for some higher rated guys. Last week, UF offered both WR CJ Worton and QB Treon Harris. Worton is visiting UF, Ole Miss, and another school while Harris is visiting UF, Auburn, and Miami. I don't expect either to make a decision before NSD. If that's the case, they probably stick with FSU leaving you with your last 6 slots that you mentioned.
I don't know why UF would want Worton as he is a duplicate of Ryan Sousa.
As a QB, Harris is a bit short at 5'11" although Chris Leak did well at 5'11 1/2" for UF. Maybe he switches to WR or DB? He certainly isn't going to beat out Jeff Driskel or Will Grier (honored today as the national player of the year).
It occurs to me that UF is helping FSU more than UF to take either of the players. Am I wrong on that?
