5 years ago today, the osu football program was in a suddenly rather unsteady place. this is the day that tressel handed in his 'resignation' over the trinkets for tattoos affair. he was far from perfect, but he was in a record-setting run of 6 straight big 10 titles, a 5-3 record in bcs bowl games (6-4 overall), 3 bcs titles games and the '02 title. not many of us who've followed the program were worried that osu wouldn't be successful in the future, tho the short term prospects were anything but rosy. that said, imho what's happened under meyer's leadership has exceeded expectations. certainly mine. buckeye football has, literally, never been in a better place or amidst a better run, and that includes woody. there were plenty who didn't think meyer would fit, that his persona wasn't right for ohio state, and i certainly had my share of questions. but i think he has matured as a man as well as a coach and it shows. Well said...some people were immediately enamored with the name, as some were immediately disgusted...but so far, it does seems to have all fallen nicely into place for CUFM and the Ohio State Football Program...

WOW.... after yesterday, look over THIS list... 95 Applegate, Richard.................... 1974-75 Baxter, Charles.................................1972 Bell, Jim..................................... 1992-97 Cotton, Sian............................... 2004-05 Fedderson, Jerold V..........................1943 George, August.......................... 1965-66 Huntzinger, Rick................................1993 Johnston, Cameron.................... 2013-14 Kacherski, John.................... 1987-88, 91 Kelsey, Ray T....................................1945 Lago, Gary M....................................1970 Lee, Darryl.................................. 1983-86 Lewis, Brian.....................................1977 Manifold, Matt.................................1987 Matheney, Don........................... 2009-11 Patton, Randall.................................1971 Phillips, Larry.............................. 1978-81 Pittman, Se’Von................................2012 Rietschlin, Chris......................... 2007-08 Simindinger, Scott............................1997 Stukey, Brian.............................. 1984-85 Stungis, John J................................1946 Thompson, David....................... 1998-02 Attachment DeletedJohn Kacherski Attachment DeletedJim Bell Attachment DeletedDavid Thompson I try to do this 'right.' I try to go thru the list, and acknowledge past players for what they did for the program, and jog memories with names some of us have forgotten... I don't pretend to be Jack Park, but my Ohio State memories do go back into the 50s, and while I don't consider myself a FANATIC, my family does...<g> This past few days has amazed me at the numbers of men who come to Columbus, put in the work & effort, and PAIN that goes along with that, and never even earn a letter. I start with the jersey number, look at the AA list, All Big Ten list, go back thru stats to at least make sure (in the past couple days) the guy was a starter, or went on to play in the NFL, and THEN try to find a picture... As I said to start...WOW. But I like doing this, it is fun.

I'm certain everyone knows
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State's visit to Oklahoma for the third week of the college football season will be a 7:30 p.m. eastern start on Fox.
This is Ohio State's fifth primetime game of the 2016 season. The game will be televised on Fox because the Big 12 has a primetime package with that network.
In ESPN.com's early 2016 rankings, Oklahoma is No. 5 and Ohio State is No. 10. Early betting lines have the Buckeyes as 9-point underdogs vs. the Sooners.
