true, but this guy is at the top of virtually everyone's radar as a dual threat qb. still needs to sign, still needs to work to realize his potential, but yes, definitely good news. Ohio State lands star QB and could add star receiver best friendAnother domino in the quarterback recruiting race fell Sunday night as Tate Martell committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Martell has been on the recruiting radar for a half decade now, first committing to Washington at age 14. He made news by later committing and then decommitting from Texas A&M, a move that ultimately led to a Texas A&M coach’s embarrassing subtweets. The Las Vegas Bishop Gorman star is rated as the No. 1 dual-threat QB in the class, a four-star at No. 55 overall as of the time of publish. He’s an excellent high school player and should be a good college quarterback. Some services have him as a five-star, but I am not buying the five-star tag for a 5’10.5 QB who is older than many of his peers. I wrote this for SB Nation’s Ohio State site, Land Grant Holy Land. Martell is an excellent high school player who faces good competition at Bishop Gorman. He needs to be in the spread offense so that he can have wider throwing windows due to being 5'10.5. He's athletic and can extend plays. Martell's delivery is unique and helps to compensate some for his lack of height. As an overaged player who was very good for so long, the question of upside is worth asking. Martell may be closer to being maxed out than his peers. That said, I think taking Martell is a smart move. Ohio State runs a spread offense under Urban Meyer, Martell was one of the best uncommitted quarterbacks in the nation and he is like a brother to five-star receiver Tyjon Lindsey, a tiny-but-explosive five-star slot receiver who is strongly considering Ohio State as well. If Martell can get Lindsey to join him in Columbus, Buckeyes would be quite happy. Ohio State now has the No. 1 class in the nation. and besides being short, he's also a leftie...

Often said a receiver "hears footsteps" ......Cory makes DBs hear footsteps. And I've always been a fan of WRs who can block

While looking for pics, I saw several Dudley cards with him in BB attire...even considered posting one, as I'd think many fans, especially younger, don't know or have forgotten. It is a shame about Hamby, but you're right...players are remembered for THOSE PLAYS, good and bad. I'm sure Justin Zwick and his fans would like to know 'what IF he'd caught that ball' and all the changes that may have brought about... I remember that Rose Bowl, and the catches, but didn't remember Pagac's name connected with them. Funny sometimes of the little tricks our brains play on our memories...especially as we try to cram more memories in there....

unfortunately, for a majority of buckeye fans, they remember him for just one play; the dropped pass on what might have been the game-clinching td vs texas in '05. funny how a game goes for 60 minutes, but only the last ones count........early 1st quarter, (first series actually) Gonzales and Ginn both dropped passes in the right flat that had no defender between them and the endzone. Instead of opening the game 7 to ZIP, OSU punts.

'if' he'd been getting normal reps? would either the texas or psu outcome a couple weeks have changed? we'll never know. that '05 team was loaded. in the other 12 games texas played/won that year, the horns scored 627 points. that's 52.3/game. osu held them to 25. the defense held them to 23. but when you're in scoring position 6 times and come away with just 1 td and 5 fg's, that stacks the deck against you vs a good team.

Chris Ward, the largest of Woody's linemen. Tipped the scale at a whopping 270 pounds. funny how a generation later, that would be smallish DE size.
