since there's no um board.... seeing both ty wheatley and mike hart's names being mentioned as possibly succeeding p.j. fleck in kalamazoo. wheatley's been an assistant for a few years now, before joining harbaugh's staff in '15. but i'd forgotten that hart, who's now up at syracuse, had been an assistant at both wmu and emu. you wonder, if wheatley were to get the job, whether hart would replace him in ann arbor.

Recruiting is starting to wind down to NLOI day...(1 Feb) We're looking pretty good, so far ... Scout shows us with 19 verbals, the only one not ranked 4* or higher & not in their Top 300 is a kicker out of Buffalo, Blake Haubeil. There are four undecided that we have interest in; one 5* DT, Marvin Wilson, the #1 rated DT out of TX. The #3 DT out of UT is 4* Jay Tufele. The #23 OT out of Massillon is Thayer Munford, a 4*. The last uncommitted is a 4* TE out of CA, #8 Josh Falo. As things stand right this moment, we are a couple over, depending on who may or may not decide to leave, so it is going to be an interesting few months coming up. We will be under 25 for this year; and don't have to have our total number down to 85 until 1 August. We shall see...we shall see...

qb-barrett is the starter, but for the 2nd straight year he's going to have very little experience in terms of wr's, which sucks. i'm hoping the change in qb/oc coaches will help him be as effective as he can possibly be. immense respect for who he is and what he's been able to accomplish at tosu. rb-williams must, and i mean must, get on the field and deliver. weber is a grinder, and i'm not going to criticize a back who put up 1000+ yards. that said, imho williams has more ability to shake off initial contact and turn 3 into 6, 5 in to 15, etc. h-back; i disagree that campbell may be a better fit in this role. i think his best potential is on the outside. mccall is small, but i thought he showed some nice quickness when he was on the field in '16. hill showed some glimpses too. wr-i love victor's combo of height, hands and speed. he has star potential. mack could be good too. and the frosh white (william's son) i saw play quite a bit here at olentangy liberty; his talent will get him on the field at wr, slot or rb soon. wr-this is where campbell needs to start fulfilling his destiny. it's time for him to more consistency hold onto the ball when it comes his way. te-i thought baugh did a nice job when called upon last season. watch out for hausmann. he reminds me a lot of both hartsock and heuerman. lt-jones, no question. lg-jordan got a baptism by fire, starting the entire season as a true frosh. i expect him to make a huge leap forward in run blocking, pass protection, and maturity. potential to be the bucks' best o-lineman c-price. very very happy he decided to return for his senior year. not only will that help osu... i believe that will help him be a better player on the pro level. so important in today's game to have experience snapping the ball and calling out assignments. rg-knox. he didn't play as much last year as some thought he might. rt-prince. another guy i expect to see step up big time in '17. this line will be better than the '16 version i think, but boy we are green in terms of 2nd teamers up front on offense.

Lookin' back... 2012 was CUFM's first class...Pat Elflein was the only member of that class that stayed for five years... The '13 class returns only Clark, Worley, Lewis, Hill, Barrett, Sprinkle, Baugh, and Price. WOW...
